Accommodations in small hotels or resorts were good. Breakfast was fine with lots of fruit, etc. Dinners generally...
Accommodations in small hotels or resorts were good. Breakfast was fine with lots of fruit, etc. Dinners generally fair to good. Transport great. guide very accommodating...we watched birds as we travelled. Started at 8AM, finished usually by 2PM (should be more time at sites of interest. I would recommend the guide again. He really tried to match my interests. Extra site visits very good. Would have liked more national parks to see animals and scenery. Missed the Dutch background because Galle scheduled for Sunday! This could have been re-arranged since the next day was alone at beach. In last two days only had drivers take me to hotel and airport. Fortunately I was able to fill in alone at temple and sites in Columbo...otherwise would have missed a great site. Suggestions: Single travel has advantages, but tours could be more adjusted to individual interest. I am a nature lover who also likes history, local culture and religious interests. I am too old for beaches and night life...rather spend time in natural parks. Would like to have gone longer each day. Schedule visits more around day of the week (Sunday or other day closings). I looked at tourist magazine while in Columbo. There was much more I would like to have done, had I known about it. Eating supper alone each night was bore...and the food needed improvement. I had to return food one evening because it was totally unpalatable. Breakfasts were fine.Show more
