Can the arrival and departure airport be in Montenegro?

The classical Albania tour starts and ends in Tirana International Airport. The closest airport in Montenegro to Tirana is about 150 km distance. We may alternatively offer extra transfer if you are interested.

Wonder if you have any Tunisia tour like your Classic Tour from Sep20 to Sep29. We have to be in Paris on Sep29.

Our interest departure dates are September 20 or 21.

We want to visit Albania and have our flight booked to go home to Australia leaving Tirana on May 6. We like the sound of the classical tour but the April 22 tour finishes in Tirana on April 29, leaving us with about a week in Tirana before we fly out. Are there any alternatives to the classical tour which ends in Tirana say around May 2 or 3? Or could we spend a few days somewhere other than Tirana? Or would you recommend a personalised tour to fit in with our dates?

We may propose an additional tour from 29/04 to 02/05: Tirane - Shkoder - Valbone - Kosove - Durres. Price is 755 euro/person. Includes 4 nights accommodation in 4* Hotels, transport by private car with English speaking driver guide, and entrance fees.

An affordable and well run tour covering Albania's highlights. Our guide Vini did double duty, driving our van for hours then donning his tour leader hat, attentively leading us on various walking tours. We were also alloted free time to tour and dine on our own. Our hotels were uniformly clean, well maintained, with usually decent w-fi. Several of us purchased sim cards for more reliable internet access, using this as a hotspot when there was spotty wi-fi coverage. We lucked out in Gjirokaster when a pop concert was held in the square directly outside our hotel. It was a nice insight into Balkan-flavored contemporary music and tastes.Show more

I enjoyed this tour and exploring different parts and cities of Albania. This tour is a mix of culture/history and sightseeing/nature and includes a half day at a sandy beach (the beaches are lovely). Personally, I would have loved one or two full beach days 😁😊 Ervin, our tour guide, was nice, and helpful. The hotels that we stayed in were all really good, so did the breakfasts. The tour is basically six full days of doing various kind of activities and sightseeing. The first day includes airport pick up but apart from that you won’t do anything else (would be nicer if a welcome dinner with the other tour members was organised, especially for solo travelers). The last day is also transfer to airport so again you won't do anything with the tour (but can do stuff on your own). Overall, a nice, decent tour. Albania is such an amazing, beautiful country with good food and drinks 😊👍🏻Show more

  Can you provide more details about the 4-day tour you suggested? Why did you choose those particular locations? Does the 4-days tour finish in Tirana? It looks like it finishes in Durres. Also, is the Pearls of Albania 8-day tour only available if we come with our own small group, or can we join as a couple?

  We suggested visiting the North Part of the country as the 8-day classical Tour of Albania covers the central and South Part of Albania. We suggested finishing in Durres as it is on the Adriatic coast and you might want to spend 1-2 days there. Durres is only 40 km from Tirana, a 30-40 minute drive. If you want to stay in Tirana longer, we can arrange that without changing the cost.

  Are the roads we would travel on very mountainous? What is in Valbone and why more time there rather than Shkoder (1 night in Shkoder vs 2 nights in Valbone)?

  The drive from Tirana to Shkoder is about 1.5-2 hours. Shkoder can be explored in half a day. We added 2 days in Valbona because the first day is mostly traveling. In Valbona, you can take a ferry along Komani Lake and enjoy a walk in the Albanian Alps, visiting nearby villages and hiking trails.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before April 18th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after April 18th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Balkan Insight. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
