Itinerary
- Day 1
Beijing
You'll arrive in Beijing and connect with your local guide at the airport. After you collect your luggage and get through customs, you're transferred to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is yours to settle in and rest up from your flight.

- Day 2
Beijing
Start with Tiananmen Square, the world's largest urban square, then walk over to the Forbidden City where Ming and Qing dynasty emperors once ruled from. Grab a welcome lunch at a well-known restaurant, then head to Yonghe Temple, which started as a mansion for Emperor Yongzheng. Later in the afternoon you'll see the Temple of Heaven, where ancient emperors performed sacred rituals and ceremonies.

- Day 3
Beijing
You're heading to Mutianyu Great Wall with a round-trip cable car included, so you'll skip the steep climbs. There's time for a group red wine toast on the wall itself. After that, you drive back through downtown and stop at the Olympic National Stadium, known as the Bird's Nest, for photos. By evening you're in Shichahai taking a hutong rickshaw tour through old alleyways and visiting a local family's traditional courtyard home.

Beijing to Xi'an
Have breakfast, then head to the Summer Palace, a royal garden outside the city. In the afternoon you catch a 5-hour high-speed train heading to Xi'an. Your local guide and driver meet you at Xi'an North Railway Station and drive you to your hotel for check-in.

- Day 5
Xi'an
You start at the Terracotta Army where thousands of life-size pottery soldiers guard the first Emperor of Qin in the afterlife. Stop by the discoverer's home and try making your own small terracotta figure as a souvenir. Lunch is on your own, so you can eat wherever you like. Later you visit the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda and explore the Great Tang All Day Mall.

Xi'an to Shanghai
Take a leisurely walk through City Wall Park with your guide to see how locals spend their days. Then visit the City Wall itself, one of China's best-preserved ancient fortifications with roughly 600 years of history. After that, check out the Great Mosque, which blends Chinese and Islamic architecture in interesting ways. You'll browse the lively Muslim bazaar nearby and try authentic local snacks at a featured restaurant in the Muslim Quarter. Later you fly to Shanghai with airport transfer to your hotel included.

Start at the Shanghai Museum, a large collection of ancient Chinese art built in 1952. Then walk through Yu Garden, a classical Chinese garden from 1559 with a busy bazaar surrounding it full of interesting shops. Have an a la carte lunch at a well-known local restaurant so you can taste authentic Shanghai food. In the afternoon your guide takes you to the Bund area for a one-hour cruise on the Huangpu River and some free time to walk around. Finish your day at Tianzifang, a traditional street known for its culture and art.
