Thanks so much for taking the time to share this. A changing plan without clear, consistent comms is frustrating, and it shouldn’t have led to late arrivals or poor sleep on your holiday. We’d really like to look into your specific departure, address any gaps with the team, and make this right. If you could email mytrip@thedragontrip.com with your name, booking reference, and travel dates, we’ll investigate promptly and follow up with you directly. Thank you again for the feedback — it helps us improve fast for future travelers. Hattie - The Dragon Trip

    Denise

    Asked on February 28th, 2026

Under the accommodation it says for an additional fee I could upgrade and get a more private room. From checking the availability it allows me to upgrade to a twin room with two single beds which would be perfect for us. I just wanted to check if this upgrade applied to all of the places we would stay or just certain venues?

    Accommodation
    • The Dragon TripOperatorWritten March 2026

If you are booking for 2 people, then the twin/double room upgrade is perfect. The upgrade will apply throughout the whole tour.

    • The Dragon TripOperatorWritten June 2025

International flights are not included and would need to be booked separately. Our team would be happy to advise you on the best times to arrive and depart for the tour. This tour starts in Hong Kong and finishes in Beijing, so if you want to extend and spend more time in Hong Kong after the tour, this would need to be your own booking.

    Asked on May 31st, 2025

Last time there were barely any men on the trip. I'd prefer to travel with a few other men as well. Can you tell me how many men/women/binary people have signed up for this particular trip/route?

    Group size
    • The Dragon TripOperatorWritten June 2025

For the 17 Day China trip departing on the 20th July 2025, there's currently 9 guests. 3 are male and 6 are female. Guests are aged 19 and into their 30's with the majority of them being late 20's, early 30's.

    • The Dragon TripOperatorWritten May 2025

This trip can only accommodate guests aged 18-55. However, we do have the 10-Day China Premium Tour: Beijing, Xi'an & Shanghai that can accommodate guests aged 18-75.

    • J

      Josh

      TravelerWritten May 2025

I am planning to go in June, September-October. The other tour you mentioned does not meet my expectations when I want to see Hong Kong. Why can't you accommodate older people?

    • The Dragon TripOperatorWritten May 2025

We use youth hostels throughout the adventure and have created the tours with 18-29 year olds in mind. The tours will have 15,000-20,000 steps per day with at times an intense itinerary. Therefore, the majority of travellers will be in this age group. We believe that nurturing the group dynamics is crucial for the overall trip experience so we have created trips that can best cater for both younger and older travellers. Unfortunately, while we have a bit of flexibility with the age limits, we cannot extend this by 13 years.

    Tour Details
    • The Dragon TripOperatorWritten January 2025

For this trip, we can accept travellers 16 years and older when traveling with an adult. Since your son is 14, unfortunately, he would be a little young for this tour. However, we do have family-friendly tours in Japan and Korea that might be a great option - would you be interested in learning more about these options at all?

    • D

      Daniel

This tour shows only 18 years old and older. Is this allowed? Thanks!

    • The Dragon TripOperatorWritten January 2025

Unfortunately, the minimum age for this tour is 18. We are working on a China family tour and will have it live in the next 2 months. We'd love to welcome you on this tour when it goes live.

      Leslie

      TravelerWritten November 2024

Do you offer any insurance that would cover both this trips?

    • The Dragon TripOperatorWritten November 2024

While we don't provide insurance directly, we do require all clients to have backpacker travel insurance when joining our trips. We recommend a policy that includes 'Bad Weather or Natural Disaster Coverage' for added security. Please ensure your client brings their travel insurance details with them, particularly for the trip briefing on Day 1. In the event of an accident, we may need to contact their insurance provider, so it's important they have the insurance company's name, phone number, and policy number ready! For recommendations, we find 'World Nomads' to be a great travel insurance provider.

    • The Dragon TripOperatorWritten December 2024

If we have to cancel the tour in case it is not safe to travel because of the political situation you would be eligible for a full refund. You will need travel insurance to join the tour so it's useful to get a cover that can cover this too.
