We saw many interesting places and things that we wouldn't have visited—or couldn't have visited—on our own. Our guide for the trip (Ivan) was knowledgeable, provided us with interesting and important information, and always kept our safety in mind; at the same time, he was open to ideas outside the itinerary (as long as they didn’t disrupt the schedule) and flexible in light of the heat. Problems like a flat tire and a sick driver were handled smoothly. We especially enjoyed the activities where we could participate (building a yurt—great). The overnight stay at Song Kul Lake was my highlight. The schedule was tight, but it still left plenty of room and there was free time—we could have used a little more of that, in our opinion. Three meals a day were sometimes lavish, but it was so nice there. The stop at Jacobin was especially lovely in terms of lunch spots. All the buses were great, and the drivers were friendly. I always felt safe and well-informed. It was our first group tour, and I’ll definitely go on another one someday—that pretty much says it all. :-)Show more
