Although the tour didn't adhere entirely to the itinerary on the website, it worked out well. Tomas, the Spanish guide, was on the trip the entire time. We had three English guides. The first one, who took us to the North Korean border, was the best. The next two didn't seem as confident with their information and weren't always easy to understand, but we got through it okay. This tour was really exceptional for us. It was quite intense we visited so many places and learned so much about history,art, culture,religion and nature of beautiful and amazing Japan and Korea. The tour itself is very well organized the bus drivers were very professional and skilled. We always felt safe. Hotels were mostly good few a bit dated . Food was good. We had a great time! Thank you Simon, David and David , Rai/Ken our Samurai for all you were doing to make this trip very memorable. Loved your enthusiasm, knowledge , patience and kindness. Overall, we had a great experience on this tour. The service was excellent, and the hotels were very good and located in convenient areas that made it easy to explore on our own. Some of the hotel rooms in Japan were incredibly small, but we understand that this is fairly common in Japan, and the excellent locations made up for it. The tour guides in Korea were wonderful, and we really enjoyed our time with them. Most of the guides in Japan were also great, although unfortunately our guide in Tokyo did not meet the same standard as the others. For the most part, we enjoyed the places included in the itinerary. My biggest suggestion would be to add more variety to the sightseeing in Japan. There were simply too many temples and shrines. We absolutely understand their importance to Japanese culture, religion, and history, and they are certainly worth experiencing. However, after visiting several, they can begin to feel repetitive. Japan has so much more to offer, including technology, modern attractions, interesting neighborhoods, cultural experiences, and other unique points of interest. It would be wonderful if future itineraries included more of these, or perhaps offered guests a choice between visiting another temple or shrine and an alternative activity. The restaurants were good overall, and I especially enjoyed the buffets, which offered a great selection. Some of the group meals in Korea had less variety than we would have preferred, although we understand that this can be expected when arranging meals for a large tour group. We unfortunately encountered quite a bit of rain during parts of the trip, but of course that was simply luck with the weather and had nothing to do with the tour itself. Overall, the service, accommodations, guides, organization, and experience were excellent. We had a wonderful trip and came home with many great memories. With a little more variety in the itinerary, particularly in Japan, I think the experience could be even better.Show more
