Why is Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar visits—the most iconic highlights of Istanbul—not included in this tour?

    Tour Details
    • EuropamundoOperatorWritten April 2026

During your time in Istanbul: You will have a panoramic city tour, including key highlights such as the city walls, Golden Horn, and main districts. You will visit the Süleymaniye Mosque (interior included). You will see Hagia Sophia from the exterior. You will also have free time in the afternoon and evening, where you can choose to visit places like the Blue Mosque or Grand Bazaar on your own. Additionally: Topkapi Palace (interior visit included), Bosphorus boat cruise (included). So the tour does include very important highlights, but some iconic landmarks are viewed from the outside or left for independent exploration during free time. This is mainly to balance the itinerary and allow flexibility for travelers.

      TravelerWritten April 2026

I'm a solo traveler and not good at exploring places on my own—the very reason I choose a fully guided tour. With my last experience with Europamundo, your hotels are not centrally located where getting around to places on your own are not easy. It's the same when looking at your hotel selection in Istanbul. They're not within easy reach to the most iconic places I wast to see.

      Dale

      TravelerWritten April 2026

Also, do you have any small group tours that combine Turkey, Egypt and Jordan highlights?

    • EuropamundoOperatorWritten April 2026

At the moment we do not offer a combined tour that includes Turkey, Egypt, and Jordan all together in one itinerary. However, we do have some options that partially combine destinations. For example, there are tours that include Jordan and Egypt together, such as routes similar to Magical Jordan and the Nile, which include highlights like Petra and the pyramids. For Turkey, it is usually operated as a separate tour, but fully guided in English and covering the main highlights like Istanbul and Cappadocia. What I would honestly recommend for you (especially as a solo traveler who prefers structure): You could do Turkey as one guided tour, then Egypt + Jordan as a second guided tour. We can help align the dates so it feels like one continuous trip. This way, you still get the fully guided experience without needing to explore on your own, which I know is important for you. About hotels — you're right to point it out. Our hotels are not always in the very center, but the idea is that all key visits are included and guided, so you're not expected to move around alone unless you choose to.

    • D

      Dale

      TravelerWritten April 2026

If you can tailor the 3 destinations that's fully guided, includes main highlights for each country, please do. Places of importance to me are: Turkey: Istanbul highlights, Cappadocia, Hierpolis-Pamkukale, Ephesus. Egypt: Cairo museum, Bazaar, Geza Pyramids, Spynx, Nile cruise, Aswan, Luxor. Jordan: Amman highlights, including Dead sea, Mount Nebo, st Catherine's Monastery. Also, as I'm traveling solo, it's important to me that there're other English speaking people in this tour. Even though you advertise your tours as guided in English, its mostly geared to the majority Spanish speaking groups. I agree with reviews from many of your tours that your Spanish guides do all the talking, while the English guide only says a few words. That was especially true in Morocco. It wasn't an issue when parts of the tour was separated into English speaking groups. Another reason why I'd like to be with an English speaking group. I hope you understand, especially when traveling solo.

    • EuropamundoOperatorWritten April 2026

At the moment we do not offer a single combined itinerary that includes Turkey, Egypt, and Jordan together. As mentioned, there is also no current tour that combines Turkey and Jordan in one program. What we can offer instead is to combine two separate tours (for example, one covering Turkey and another covering Egypt or Jordan), aligning the dates so you can travel smoothly between them. About the destinations you mentioned: We do have tours that include many of your key highlights, such as: Turkey: Istanbul, Cappadocia, Pamukkale (Hierapolis), Ephesus. Egypt: Cairo, Pyramids of Giza, Nile cruise, Luxor, Aswan. Jordan: Amman, Dead Sea, Mount Nebo. However, these are currently offered in separate itineraries, not all together. About language and group composition: Your concern is completely valid. All our tours, whether group or private, include accompanying guides and local guides. Due to Europamundo's international nature: Groups are often bilingual (English/Spanish or Spanish/Portuguese). There may be two guides (one per language) or one bilingual guide. Depending on the stage of the trip, guides may change. While we always ensure English-speaking assistance, we cannot guarantee that the group will be primarily English-speaking, as this depends on the mix of travelers.

      Dale

      TravelerWritten April 2026

I don't see the point in 2-3 hours of free times to explore after we had already covered a specific area. I'd rather go back to the hotel at a decent time especially if we have to get dinner, unwind and get ready for the next day—I had no time for personal grooming besides a quick shower before going to bed, very late. I think time could be managed without sacrificing important sights. I'm not interested in panoramic views from a bus at the expense of skipping major sights.

    • EuropamundoOperatorWritten April 2026

You can absolutely combine two tours, and based on your preference for mid to late September, here is a well-balanced suggestion: First part (Greece / Turkey region – shorter options): Athens, the Beautiful Aegean and Northern Greece (8 days), Greco-Turkish Passion, Rhodes and Peloponnese End Athens (11 days). These are shorter and more manageable, which may better suit your preference for a more comfortable pace. Second part (Middle East – Jordan / Egypt / Jerusalem): Classical Jerusalem, Jordan and Cairo (12 days), Jerusalem, Unforgettable Jordan and Cairo (12 days), Dream of Middle East (15 days). These options include highlights like Petra, Cairo, and St. Catherine. Important note about pace: Europamundo tours are structured group tours, which means: Some days can be full and active. Free time is included for flexibility, but not all of it is mandatory. You can always choose to rest instead of exploring during free time.

      TravelerWritten April 2026

I'd like to explain more clearly why I chose to cancel the Turkey tour. Given the cost of the tour, I was disappointed that it does not include a guided visit to the main highlights in Istanbul. I also noticed that several of the hotels are not centrally located, which makes independent exploration more difficult. My recent experience on your Spain, Morocco, and Portugal tour also raised some concerns. At times, buses were not parked nearby and there wasn't clear guidance returning to them—in one instance, a group of us boarded the wrong bus in the rain due to similar bus markings. For much of the trip, I was also the only English-speaking traveler, which did not align with the expectation of a fully guided English-speaking tour. As a solo traveler, I did not find the tour particularly accommodating. On the final night in Barcelona, I was assigned a hotel without elevator access to my room and no assistance with luggage. The room itself was extremely small, with no space or rack for a suitcase, which I believe was not an accurate representation of a 3-star hotel. Given these factors, I don't feel confident moving forward with another tour at this time.

    • EuropamundoOperatorWritten April 2026

Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed explanation — I truly appreciate your honesty. I'm sorry to hear that your previous experience did not meet your expectations. Your feedback regarding guidance, hotel locations, group language balance, and overall logistics is very valuable, and I completely understand how these factors can impact your confidence when considering another trip. We sincerely value your comments, as they help us continue improving the experience we offer. I will make sure to share your observations with the relevant team for internal review.
