Itinerary
- Day 1
Shanghai to Hangzhou
Your hotel pickup happens in the morning, and from there you'll head to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station to catch the 8:05 a.m. bullet train to Hangzhou, which takes about an hour. Once you arrive, a 90-minute boat tour of West Lake gives you a good sense of the area. After lunch, you'll visit Yongfu Monastery, which has stood for over 1,600 years and features the impressive Feilai Feng grottoes carved into the hillside. Before checking into your Hangzhou hotel, there's a stop at Longjingshan Tea Cultural Village where you can taste dragon well green tea, the region's signature variety.

- Day 2
Wuzhen - Shanghai
At 9 a.m., a private car picks you up for the drive to Wuzhen Water Town, which takes around 1.5 hours from Hangzhou. You'll have about 5 hours to explore the town's two scenic zones. The East Scenic Zone includes the Ancient Bed Museum, Folk Customs Museum, Wine Distillery Workshop, Indigo Fabric Workshop, and Shadow Play Theater, while the West Scenic Zone has the Wuzhen Grand Theater, Water Market, and Chinese Foot-binding Culture Museum. You can pick which attractions appeal to you most rather than rushing through everything. By 3:30 p.m., head to the train station for the 45-minute drive, then catch the 5 p.m. bullet train back to Shanghai Hongqiao, arriving about 40 minutes later.
