Itinerary

Day 1
Muscat to Salmah Plateau
Start early from Muscat with a scenic drive heading toward Finns, then transition onto off-road routes that take you into the Eastern Hajar Mountains. The morning involves hiking through the lush Taab farms, where you'll get a sense of the landscape before reaching Majlis Al Jinn cave, one of the world's largest underground chambers. It's quite the sight once you're inside. After exploring the cave, you'll have lunch at a scenic plateau spot with views across the mountains. From there, the route descends back down, and you'll spend some time relaxing by Wadi Dayqah Dam before the drive back to Muscat arrives by evening (around 75°F/24°C).

The Oman Luxury Tour organized by Peregrine Treks was a dream come true for my husband and me. From our arrival in Muscat, we were immersed in the enchanting beauty and culture of Oman. The hospitality at Mysk Al Mouj was top-notch, and our exploration of Muttrah Souq was a delightful start to our journey. Day two's visit to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and the Royal Opera House left us in awe. The intricate mosaics and the vibrant energy of the Muttrah Souq made for a perfect day. Our drive through Nizwa and Jebel Akhdar was like traveling through a living history book, with each stop unveiling a new story. The desert encounter on day four was an unforgettable experience. The warmth of the Bedouin family, the delicious Omani coffee, and the starry desert sky created a magical atmosphere. Our stay at the desert camp was a highlight, with a feast and storytelling by the campfire. Swimming in the turquoise waters of Wadi Bani Khalid and witnessing the turtle sanctuary at Ras al Jinz were equally enchanting. The sight of green turtles under the moonlit sky was surreal. Exploring the coastal gems of Wadi Shab and Fins Beach was a refreshing experience, with stunning landscapes and serene waters. The snorkeling and dolphin-watching adventure in the Sea of Oman was breathtaking. The vibrant coral reefs and the playful dolphins made for a perfect day. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
