Itinerary
- Day 1
Bristol to Tenby
You'll leave Bristol this morning and head into South Wales, stopping first at St David's, which happens to be Britain's smallest city. There's a 12th-century cathedral worth checking out while you're there. After that, the drive along the Pembrokeshire coast is scenic, and you'll stop at spots based on what interests you, whether that's ancient woodlands, estuaries, or valleys. By evening you'll arrive in Tenby for the night.

- Day 2
Tenby to Abergavenny
You'll have some free time to wander around Tenby and see the 9th-century ruins and other local attractions. From there, head to Laugharne where Dylan Thomas lived in a boathouse, and you can tour his house if you want or check out some traditional pubs instead. Next is Carreg Cennen Castle, which sits on a rocky outcrop and is worth the stop. Later you'll drive through Bannau Brycheiniog National Park mountains, finishing the day in Abergavenny.

- Day 3
Abergavenny to Bristol
Start the day in Hay-on-Wye browsing through second-hand and antiquarian bookshops, which the town is famous for. Then it's on to Ross-on-Wye, a market town with shops and pubs where you can grab lunch and have some free time. After lunch, you'll drive through the Wye Valley, where the Industrial Revolution began, and stop at Tintern Abbey, a 12th-century site sitting right on the River Wye. Before heading back to Bristol, you'll visit Chepstow to see the Norman castle ruins.
