Ho Chi Minh City
You'll arrive at Ho Chi Minh Airport and head to your hotel to get settled. Once you've unpacked, the rest of the day is open for exploring some key spots around the city. Ben Thanh Market is worth checking out for the local energy and shopping, then you can walk through the War Remnants Museum to get historical context about the region. Later, join a street food tour where you'll try local specialties and navigate the bustling food scene.

- Day 2
Ho Chi Minh City
Start your morning visiting Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office, both nice examples of French colonial architecture still standing in the city. From there, head to Reunification Palace and the War Remnants Museum. After lunch, you'll travel about 60km to Cu Chi Tunnels, an extensive underground network from the Vietnam War era. Spend a couple hours learning how the tunnels operated and their historical importance, then drive back to Ho Chi Minh City by evening.

- Day 3
Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi
Have breakfast at your hotel before heading to the airport for your flight north to Hanoi. Once you land, a half-day tour gets you oriented with the city. You'll take a cyclo ride through old streets, catch a water puppet show (a traditional form of entertainment here), visit the Temple of Literature, and see Hoa Lo Prison. By evening you'll be back at your hotel.

- Day 4
Hanoi to Halong Bay
Your hotel pickup happens between 7:45 and 8:30am, then you'll drive about 3 to 3.5 hours through rural Vietnamese countryside heading toward Halong Bay. At noon you'll board the cruise and spend 4 hours sailing past limestone islands and exploring Dong Thien Cung Cave. If you're interested, you can try a bamboo boat or go kayaking among the rocks. The boat brings you back to Hanoi around 8:30pm.

- Day 5
Hanoi to Ninh Binh
You'll get picked up at 8:00am for a 2-hour drive to Ninh Binh where you'll explore Hoa Lu, Vietnam's ancient royal capital. Walk through temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le to understand the historical significance. After lunch in Tam Coc, you'll take a 2.5-hour sampan boat trip gliding through three cave systems surrounded by limestone cliffs. If time allows, visit Bich Dong Pagoda and climb up for views across the landscape before returning to Hanoi later in the afternoon.
