I see your trip will be Thailand (Bangkok - Chiang Mai) - Vietnam (Hanoi - Halong Bay - Hoi An - Da Nang) - Bali - Thailand (Krabi). So I wonder if you want to move Krabi to the first part in Thailand, then it will save more for you as taking a domestic flight instead of an international flight? In Vietnam, we usually organize group tours. The group tour is NOT that you share with the same group from the beginning till the end. Most of our tour is a partial group tour in which you will have DIFFERENT GROUPS for excursion at each place, but airport pick-up/drop-off and accommodation are private, just join a group on days you have a tour. Are you fine with this type of group tour? Or do you want to do it as private tours?

Are we able to add an extra day of hotel to tour as we won't be ready to be on day 2 of the tour the next morning.

My favorite part was optional tour with elephant in Chiang Mai. I had half day at elephant sanctuary - feed, interact, play with the elephants. The guides were super kind and spoke great English, always checking if I was okay traveling solo. Hotels were comfortable and clean, and the transfers were on time every single day.
