  Disappointing Experience with VIO – Would Not Recommend Unfortunately, our experience with VIO was disappointing overall, and I would not use this company again. Our first hotel in Manila was acceptable, although it was located in a rather seedy part of town. Things went downhill from there. The hotel in Boracay was disgusting, and the surrounding area was run-down, with the beach covered in smelly seaweed. The accommodation was so unacceptable that I felt I had no choice but to pay for my own hotel. Our next hotel in Panglao was equally disappointing. We were surrounded by hundreds of screaming children, the pool was unpleasant and smelly, and our room overlooked what appeared to be a rubbish dump. This was far from the relaxing island experience we had hoped for. To make matters worse, our return flight to Manila was completely mishandled, resulting in a four-hour wait for a replacement flight. To their credit, VIO did attempt to make amends by providing 3,000 pesos towards dinner, which was appreciated. However, this gesture did little to make up for the numerous issues throughout the trip. Overall, the accommodation arrangements and flight organization fell well below our expectations. What should have been an enjoyable holiday was overshadowed by poor hotel choices, unpleasant surroundings, and travel disruption. Based on our experience, I would not recommend VIO and would not book with them again.Show more

Boracay: When you arrived at Belmont Hotel, you chose to stay in the van rather than see the property, and you arranged another hotel yourself. We respected that choice and had the driver take you there straight away. Belmont is well rated on major travel platforms, sits close to Station 2 and offers a free hourly shuttle to the main beach area. Seaweed on Boracay’s beaches is a natural, seasonal occurrence. Neither we nor the hotels can control it. Panglao: Solea Coast Resort is a popular, well-reviewed family-friendly resort, and earlier VIO guests have given it excellent feedback. Our local team stayed in touch with you throughout your stay, but none of these concerns were raised with us at the time. If they had been, we would have been glad to look into a room change right away. We always encourage travelers to tell us as soon as something isn’t right, because that’s when we can help most. Flight: We made a mistake with your return flight time, and we take full responsibility for it. As soon as we noticed, our team rebooked you on the earliest available flight. We also arranged a 3,000 PHP dinner credit at your final hotel as an apology, and we’re glad you appreciated it. Each issue that reached us was handled the same day, and we stand by that level of care for every traveler. Hotels are run independently, so we can’t control every detail on the ground. We felt safe, always had communication with Tourradar/Vio people. Elba, our personal guide for the day tour, was AWESOME!! We had a marvelous time!!   Small group? I was it. Guided? Daily emails from Vio telling you when you will be picked up the next day. Itinerary? Almost daily transfers by Cebu Pacific Air or ferry. Nothing to see here, folks. The hotels were adequate although the "resorts" were overrun with screaming brats, and the one-night-stands were miles from the airport for no apparent reason. Transfers were all handled by Southwest Tours. Better to avoid the middle man (and markups).Show more

There were 5 hotels, 3 plane trips, 1 boat ferry and many pickups planned along the way. This was my first trip to the Philippines and the assortment of activities led to many interactions with Philippine people - this was desired and enjoyable.
