    I was interested in this tour but there seems to be some conflicting information on the site. The tour says it starts from Hong Kong to Beijing, however on the itinerary it says from Hong Kong to Hong Kong. It also says we would visit Shanghai, but the map doesn't go there. Could you please clarify?

      The tour starts in Hong Kong and also ends in Hong Kong. So it's actually a circular route, not Hong Kong → Beijing as sometimes shown on the summary view. Start: Hong Kong. Travel through mainland China (Yangshuo, Chengdu, Xi'an, Shanghai, etc.). Final leg: Fujian → train back to Hong Kong (Day 27) where the tour concludes. So the "Ends in Beijing" line you may have seen is incorrect on that listing snapshot. And yes, Shanghai is definitely included in the middle of the itinerary for a multi-day stay.

It involves hostel accommodation, overnight trains in shared cabins, camping on the Great Wall, long travel days, and a semi-independent style that isn't appropriate for children.
