Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Tashkent
You'll fly into Tashkent and your guide meets you right at the airport. From there it's a straightforward transfer to your hotel where you can settle in and adjust to the time zone.

- Day 2
Tashkent to Khiva
Start the morning in Tashkent's old town, heading straight to the Khast Imam historical complex to get a sense of the city's past. After that, walk through Chorsu Bazaar and soak in the energy of local vendors and merchants. By afternoon you'll move into the modern side of town, checking out Independence Square and Amir Timur Park. Later that evening you'll catch a flight to Urgench, and from there it's about a 35km drive to Khiva where you'll spend the night.

- Day 3
Khiva
You'll spend the day exploring Ichan Kala, the inner walled city that's recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walking through the historic center, you'll see centuries-old architecture with turquoise-tiled buildings and ornate Oriental details throughout. The locals sometimes call it an open-air museum, and you'll understand why once you're there. In the evening, head up to catch the sunset over the oasis, which is worth staying late for.

Khiva to Bukhara
Today is mostly travel through the Kyzylkum desert and steppe terrain to reach Bukhara, about 420km away. You'll stop for lunch at a traditional Uzbek roadhouse along the route. By late evening you'll arrive in Bukhara and have some time to wander around on your own before settling in.

- Day 5
Bukhara
The morning starts at the Mausoleum of Ismail Samani, one of Bukhara's most significant sites. From there you'll see the Chashmai Ayub Mausoleum and walk through old streets that really do feel straight out of One Thousand and One Nights. Later you'll visit the Miri Arab madrasa, which still operates as a teaching institution. The afternoon takes you through the Lyabi Khauz complex with its trading domes, mosques, and the Khanaka dervish monastery built around it.

Bukhara to Samarkand
You'll drive to Samarkand, another UNESCO site, and along the way you can stop at Rabbati Malik Caravansaray and Sardoba water reservoir. Once there, head straight to Registan Square to see the three medrasas with their incredible detail work. You'll also visit the Guri Emir mausoleum, which sits like a palace dedicated to Timur's memory.

- Day 7
Samarkand to Shakhrisabz and return
An early start gets you to Shakhrisabz, Amir Timur's birthplace, about 1.5 hours outside Samarkand. You'll check out the remains of the Ak Saray summer palace, walk through the Khazrat Imam and Kok Gumbaz mosques, and see the Dar-us-Saodat complex. These ruins show what Timur's empire looked like at its height. After spending the morning and early afternoon here, you'll head back to Samarkand for the evening.
