Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Islamabad

    You'll arrive at the airport and connect with your guide and driver who'll take you to your hotel. Once settled in, spend the rest of the day checking out Islamabad's main attractions. The Faisal Mosque is a must-see, and you'll catch panoramic views from Shakar Parian National Park. After that, head to the Pakistan Monument, then walk through Daman-e-Koh park. Finish with the Lok Versa Museum if you're interested in traditional Pakistani handicrafts and textiles.

  2. Day 2

    Islamabad to Chilas

    Start your drive early for the 9 to 10 hour journey to Chilas. You'll stop for lunch in Naran around midday, which breaks up the drive nicely. Along the route, you pass by Babusar Pass at 4,173 meters where the mountain scenery really opens up. The road winds through some beautiful terrain, so you'll see the landscape shift as you gain elevation. By evening, you'll reach your hotel in Chilas.

  3. Day 3

    Chilas to Karimabad

    The drive to Karimabad takes about 5 to 6 hours via private vehicle. You'll stop at Thalichi for photos where three major mountain ranges converge, then swing by the Rakaposhi viewing point for more picture opportunities. After checking into your hotel, get a feel for the area by taking a walk through the local bazaar with your guide, who can point out local shops and specialties.

    Karimabad - Hopper Valley and Forts

    Head out for a 3 hour drive to Hopper Valley where you'll see the glaciers of Barpu, Bualtar, Miar, and Sumayar. The valleys here have a real charm to them. Then you'll explore Altit Fort and Baltit Fort to see ancient displays that tell the story of the region's royal past. Before heading back to Karimabad, stop by local villages to get a sense of how people live and work here.

    Duiker Valley to Passu

    The drive to Passu takes about an hour, and you'll stop at Attaabad Lake on the way. This peaceful lake was created by a landslide and sits in a quiet setting. Once at your hotel, spend the afternoon exploring the area's varied landscapes. Check out Borith Lake, the Passu Glacier, the Hussani suspension bridge, and smaller villages like Gulking, Gulmit, Passu, and Hussani.

You'll drive through tranquil villages with unspoiled scenery, stopping for photos along the way. The sightseeing opportunities are scattered throughout the route, so you'll have plenty of moments to step out and take in the landscape before heading back to your Karimabad hotel.
