Itinerary
- Day 1
Catania to Taormina
You'll arrive at Catania airport where your driver meets you for the transfer to Taormina. Once you've settled into your hotel, there's time to freshen up before the evening food and wine tour starts at 18:00. Your local guide takes you through authentic dining spots around the city center, where you'll sample local delicacies and get a real sense of Sicilian food traditions. The tour finishes around 21:30, so you'll have the rest of the night to wander Taormina's streets on your own if you'd like.

- Day 2
Taormina
Kick things off with breakfast at your hotel, then join the half-day guided tour heading to Savoca and Forza d'Agro. You'll visit filming locations from the Godfather movies and learn about local mafia history along the way. There's an aperitif at the famous Vitelli bar, followed by lunch featuring seasonal specialties on a terrace overlooking the area. Back at your hotel later for a break, and then an evening walking tour takes you through Taormina's culture and history, finishing at the impressive Greek Theatre.

- Day 3
Mount Etna
After hotel breakfast, you're heading to Mount Etna for a full day on the mountain. The morning includes Refuge Sapienza at 1,900 meters/6,234 feet where you'll explore the extinct Silvestri craters and walk across old lava flows. If you want to go higher, there's an optional cable car and Jeep option with an Alpine Guide that takes you to 3,000 meters/9,843 feet for a 45-minute tour through the lunar landscape. Later you'll stop at a panoramic winery on Etna's slopes for a guided tour, tasting at least 5 wines paired with cold appetizers and light lunch. You're back at the hotel with your evening free.

Taormina to Syracuse
Today takes you to Noto, a UNESCO site and Baroque gem rebuilt in 1693 after an earthquake. Your guide leads a walking tour through the perfectly designed limestone streets and architectural details. You'll do a Modica chocolate tasting before moving on to Marsamemi, an authentic fishing village. Lunch is fresh fish at a typical local tavern, and then you transfer to Syracuse for the evening.

- Day 5
Syracuse
After breakfast, join a 2-hour walking tour of Ortigia, Syracuse's old town. You'll see the Apollo Temple, walk Via Cavour with its colorful mix of local artists and aristocrats, check out the Archimede Fountain, and explore the Jewish district that dates back to the 3rd century BC. The tour includes Duomo Square where the Duomo and Church of St. Lucy stand, and your guide shares insights into local lifestyle and history. The afternoon and evening are yours to explore Syracuse at your own pace.

- Day 6
Syracuse to Palermo
After breakfast you're driving toward Palermo, passing the ancient Temple Valley. About 2 hours in, you'll meet your local guide for a 2-hour tour of this UNESCO site. Fresh seasonal lunch happens at a local taverna, then it's back on the road to Palermo. You'll settle into your hotel with the evening free to relax or start exploring Sicily's capital.
