- Day 1
Colombo to Negombo
You'll land at Colombo airport where an UncleSam Holidays representative meets you for the drive to Negombo. After settling into your hotel and freshening up, head out to check out the local sights like Angurukalamulla Temple, the Dutch Fort, Beach Park, and St. Mary's Church. The rest of your day is open for relaxing or exploring at your own pace.

Negombo to Dambulla
Following breakfast, you'll check out and drive toward Dambulla with stops along the way. At Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, you'll get to feed and bathe baby elephants, then continue to the Royal Botanical Garden before arriving in Dambulla. Once checked in, visit the Dambulla Royal Cave Temple, the Golden Buddha statue, and Ibbankatuwa Megalithic Tombs later in the afternoon.

- Day 3
Dambulla to Anuradhapura
After breakfast you'll check out and head to Anuradhapura, where an English-speaking guide joins you for the day. There's plenty to see here including the Sri Maha Bodhi tree, the Brazen Palace, several Dagobas and Monasteries like Ruwanwelisaya, Abeygiri, and Jetawana, plus rock-cut Buddha statues and palace ruins scattered throughout. By evening, you'll have free time back at your hotel for shopping or just taking it easy.

- Day 4
Anuradhapura to Sigiriya
Check out after breakfast and drive toward Sigiriya, stopping first at Polonnaruwa, a medieval UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll explore the Royal Palace, the Gal Vihare complex with four Buddha images carved from rock, and see the giant statue of the region's greatest king. Later you'll continue to Sigiriya to visit the famous 5th-century Rock Fortress that rises 200 metres above the landscape, another UNESCO site worth the climb.

After breakfast, check out and make your way to Kandy with optional stops along the route. If interested, you can revisit Dambulla Royal Cave Temple and the Golden Buddha, explore Ibbankatuwa Megalithic Tombs, check out Aluviharaya Rock Cave Temple, visit Fort Macdowall, or tour a spice garden in Matale. Once you arrive in Kandy and check into your hotel, the rest of the day is free for you.

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
Following breakfast, you'll check out and drive to Nuwara Eliya with scenic stops at waterfalls and tea plantations along the way. After arriving and freshening up, explore the area including a well-maintained golf course, Gregory Lake, Hindu Temples, and a Ceylon Tea factory where you can tour the processing plant. Your evening is open for relaxation at the hotel.

Nuwara Eliya to Kataragama
After breakfast, check out and drive to Kataragama. Once you've checked into your hotel, head out for an afternoon jungle safari in Yala National Park where you might spot the endangered Sri Lankan leopard, elephants, wild boar, and various birdlife. You'll return to your hotel by evening.

Kataragama to Bentota
Check out after breakfast and drive to Bentota, making stops at several important sites near Galle along the way including the Mahamodara Sea Turtle Hatchery Centre, the historic Dutch Fort, Sri Sudharmalaya Buddhist Temple, Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery, and Yatagala Raja Maha Viharaya. Once in Bentota and checked into your hotel, the remainder of your day is yours to unwind.

You have a completely open day at Bentota Beach to spend however you'd like. Swim in the ocean, lounge on the sand, or take a walk and explore the beach at your own pace. It's a chance to recharge after a full week of traveling and sightseeing.
