Day 1
Mt. Hagen
You'll arrive at Mt. Hagen airport and transfer to your lodge to get checked in. Once you're settled, head over to the Mt. Hagen market to see what local life looks like there, then spend the evening relaxing back at the hotel.

Day 2
Paiya
Start early and drive about 45 minutes to Paiya village for the Paiya mini festival. You'll watch performers getting ready and then see traditional dances with elaborate feather decorations and body ornaments, plus mock battles with shields and bows. The day includes traditional marriage ceremonies and wraps up with a Mumu feast, which is food cooked underground. If you're interested, there's an optional afternoon trip to see Birds of Paradise.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before May 4th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after May 4th, 2026, a minimum payment of 50% is required to confirm your booking with Indigo Safaris. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 90 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
