How wheelchair friendly is "Explore Jamaica"? Are the hotel rooms assessable? The excursions? I can transfer pretty well. I went to some of the hotels listed, but I couldn't find if they have assessable rooms.

Explore does specialize in active adventure tours and their tours aren't recommended for those with mobility issues. The hotels used are simple accommodations and it can't be guaranteed that accessible rooms will be available during the tour.

When will January 2025 tour dates and booking be available for the Explore Jamaica 10 day tour?

Our 2026 dates for this tour aren't yet released, we think they should be introduced either in January or February, but we are unsure of the exact release date at this stage.

The visit to The Bob Marley Museum, The visit to The National Art Gallery in Kingston (I'm very interested in art), visiting the Rastafari village & tasting their food, visiting & learning about The Maroons, The Visit to Rose Hall Great House (as I'm interested in Jamaica's history) & the trip on the glass-bottomed boat (where I filmed the wonderful marine life). In addition, thanks to Dillon (I'm not sure ho to spell his name), I spent a half-day visiting a secondary school where the headteacher, teachers & students treated me with huge respect & I was able to observe several lessons being taught . Again thanks to Dillon, I was able to visit The Synagogue in Kingston, which was very personal to me.Show more

The optional excursions to Dunns River Falls to climb a waterfall - great fun! Rose Hall Great House - interesting history and opportunity to see how the plantation owners lived, could have made more about how the slaves were treated however. Appletons Distillary tour. Easy to follow tour of the distillery followed by tasting. Bamboo rafting on the Rio Grande which was lovely. All of the above were optional. Without these excursions the set itinerary was very limited though it did include the Rasta village visit which was very good (lunch was nice but not a lot of it ... ). Accommodation was of a high standard across the trip which was very nice, all the rooms had air conditioning which more than made up for the 'interesting' levels of water supplies!Show more

While all the 'included' visits were enjoyable, some were more interesting than others with the talk by Firstman at the Rastafarian village, the very detailed presentation at the Blue Mountain coffee estate, the very relaxing raft ride with Captain Curtis, the crocodiles and dolphins we saw on the boat trip along the Black River and visiting both Bob Marley and Peter Tosh's homes stood out. Though what stood out most of all was how enjoyable it always was to meet and spent time with local people in local bars and restaurants.Show more
