  I had a great experience on the 4 day Nurata mountain villages hiking tour. The guide was so knowledgeable and helpful and the families that I stayed with were incredible friendly. My only malcontent was the driving from Bukhara to the first village on the tour. I felt quite unsafe as the driver was extremely fast and seemed quite aggro on the road. My guide drove very safely to Samarkand at the end. The food on the trip was delicious and the beds were comfortable, toilet and shower facilities were great and the villages themselves were so beautiful! It was an experience of a lifetime!   Dear Selina, Thanks for taking the time to write a review about your experience with our tour. We are sincerely sorry to hear that some parts of the tour did not meet your expectations. We agree with you that some mountain escort guides speak very little English (this is indicated in the itinerary) and some of our homestay owners speak basic English too. The homestay owners as well as mountain guides have undergone language training however some new ones still need more training to be able to communicate with the guests confidently. We are planning to do another course in the month of December to improve on this side. The price that you paid for the 4 days hiking tour for the group of 2 persons was 290 USD per person. We understand your concern about the price however would like to draw your attention that the price of the tour for 2 persons included transport (private vehicle) from Bukhara to the village and from there to Samarkand, all meals during the tour, mountain guide service, transportation of luggage from village to village during the hike and all the taxes. Please note that transport has the largest share in the price. We appreciate your all feedback about the meals as well. We will look definitely look into the issues mentioned and will take the necessary measures to improve the situation. Our company Responsible Travel is a tour company and Community Based Tourism (CBT) organization that promotes the development of tourism in the Nuratau region to create jobs and alternative sources of income for the rural population of the region. All the guides as well as the homestay owners who are from remote villages are members of our CBT organization. Prior to engaging in tourism, those people were ordinary villagers who were subsistence farmers or simply unemployed people who have no formal education. We are continuously trying to improve the skills of our service providers (local people) by organizing training in languages and mountain guiding however we still have some new members (guides and homestays) that need more training.
