    Changsha

    Your high-speed train pulls into Changsha station where your private guide meets you. After collecting your luggage, you'll head to the hotel by private car with help getting settled and checked in.

  2. Day 2

    Changsha to Zhangjiajie

    Start the day at Orange Isle to see the Mao Zedong sculpture and walk through landscaped gardens with river views. Then head to Huangxing Road Pedestrian Street for shopping and local food like spicy crayfish, sugar-oil baba, and stinky tofu. If interested, you can add stops at Taiping Street, Pozi Street, or Martyrs' Park. Later, catch a 2.5-hour bullet train to Zhangjiajie where your guide transfers you to your hotel.

  3. Day 3

    Zhangjiajie

    Your day focuses on Zhangjiajie National Forest Park with a private guide. Take the Bailong Elevator up the mountainside to reach the top, then check out Yuanjiajie Scenic Area with the First Bridge Under Heaven and Terrace views of the floating mountain formations. From there, you'll ride a cable car to Tianzi Mountain to see the peaks and cloudy landscape.

    Zhangjiajie

    Visit Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon and walk across the glass-bottomed bridge, which stretches 300 meters high above the ground. There's an alternative route if you'd rather skip the glass bridge. Afterward, drive to Baofeng Lake for a short walk and a 30-minute wooden boat ride through the scenic basin while local minority singers perform traditional songs.

Then spend 3 hours driving to Fenghuang Ancient Town, a well-preserved historic area known for its unique building style and local culture. Wander the old streets and look at traditional houses built on stilts along the Tuojiang River.

You'll get a feel for the local scene with street vendors and artisans showing their crafts throughout the town.
