    Hampi

    The train pulls in at Hubballi early morning, then it's a drive to Hampi with a tuk-tuk ride to your hotel for the next couple nights. After breakfast and getting freshened up, you'll have free time to walk around this historic town on your own. By evening, join the group to catch the sunset at Raghunatha Temple.

    Hampi

    Today is all about the ancient ruins here, a UNESCO World Heritage site that dates back to the mid-1300s. You'll wander through the site and check out the royal structures. In the afternoon, there's a hike up to the monkey temple at the top of Anjanadri Hill, where you can catch the sunset.

    Hampi

    Mysore

    You'll arrive in Mysore this morning, waking up on the train. Drop your bags and freshen up, then head out. Walk through Devaraja Market, see Chamundi Hills and the Monolithic Bull. During your free time, you can optionally visit Mysore Palace if you'd like. In the evening, catch a Bollywood film if that interests you.

    Sri Lankan people are so wonderfully friendly and happy. We saw the Kapil brothers' gardens and an orphanage which had previously been owned by a Scottish couple who had no children. See the tsunami site where there is a monument for those who lost their lives. Different culture but they like everyone. Elephant safari is more about the driving experience of the young males in their mud antics. Wonderful food to experience too.
