I don't understand how this tour is considered medium intensity. It seems like there is a lot of time spent traveling and doesn't appear to be any hikes or bike riding. Why medium intensity? Also, are airport transfers included?

The Italy Explorer tour is classified as medium intensity mainly because of the pace of travel and the amount of walking involved at various destinations. While there are no hikes or bike rides included, the tour features several city walking tours and days with longer sightseeing durations, which can make it more active than a relaxed itinerary. Regarding your other question, airport transfers are not included for our Europe tours. Travellers typically arrange their own transfers to and from the starting and ending hotels.

Can you please send me the hotel list? Is hotel included on Day 16? The description says end point is hotel, but the accommodation section shows 15 nights. How many hours a day are we on the bus? What happens if someone gets Covid? Are they required to leave the tour? Can you send me a list of optional excursions and prices? If I am coming with a friend and want to share a room, can each of us book separately? What's the process?

Hotels for our tours are confirmed closer to departure. Tour ends on 16th Day in Rome around 11AM with no accommodations included for the evening. Our coaches travel 3-6 Hours per day. If a traveler contracts Covid, they can choose to end the tour early or continue. We offer Twin Share Accommodation where 2 persons share a room. If booking separately, you can request to be roomed with your friend.

The tour leader was the only reason we were able to complete the trip despite the frustrations we experienced throughout the journey. The hours needed to pull off the schedule they set was void of holiday mode totally. It was reduced to what people can endure to say they have been there. The F1 approach to a expat schedule, ended up costing me $400 to stay in Naples for 2 nights and go down to see Pompei for ourselves.( after being promised this would not happen), because of the time factor involved. The explanations provided were frequent but did not resolve the concerns we had. Ultimately, I felt the company was unwilling to adapt to the needs of travelers who were looking for a more relaxed and enjoyable holiday experience.Show more

Very disappointed that Expat Explore changed it to a 16 day tour without bothering to tell us or Tour Radar. Cost us money and a lot of stress to try to rearrange/cancel/modify other bookings we'd made based on the original itinerary we were given. Terrible hotels selected by tour operator (too far from everything and too many broken or not working features, such as a/c, fridge, laundry service etc and too small) and not very organised by tour leader - a lot of the group were left wondering where we were going and how long it would take to get there, or where we were a lot of the time. Coach driver was very good. Too much crammed into too little time which meant not enough time for sleep, no time to relax or repack bags or do laundry or anything else, and too much walking and public transport just to get to locations of interest. Also didn't get to visit many locations of interest - just saw the outside/exterior. Meals included were of very poor standard. Won't be holidaying with Expat Explore again.Show more
