Itinerary
- Day 1
Colombo to Kandy
You'll land at Bandaranaike International Airport and meet your Holiday Lanka Tours representative who'll arrange your private transfer to Kandy. The drive takes roughly 1 hour 54 minutes and winds through countryside, with an optional stop for refreshments if you need one. After settling into your hotel, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic holds evening services from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. if you want to check it out.

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
Following breakfast, you'll head from Kandy toward Nuwara Eliya through the hill country, covering about 73 to 75 kilometers. The route includes photo stops at viewpoints, and there's a chance to visit a tea plantation or factory depending on timing. Once you reach Nuwara Eliya (locals call it 'Little England'), you'll check in and have the evening free to walk around the colonial-style streets and seasonal market areas at your own pace.

Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast at your hotel, you'll spend the full day exploring what Nuwara Eliya has to offer. Hakgala Botanical Garden is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and you can head there first, then continue to the Seetha Eliya or Seetha Amman Temple area nearby. Later you'll make a leisurely stop at Gregory Lake for relaxation and walking, with optional boating available if weather cooperates. By evening you'll return to your hotel to rest.

You'll have breakfast and then drive from Nuwara Eliya down toward Bentota on the southern coast, covering about 194.4 kilometers over roughly 3 hours 31 minutes (though plan for extra time with traffic and breaks during the scenic descent). Once you arrive in Bentota and check into your beach hotel, the rest of your day is open for relaxing by the beach or using the pool.

Bentota

Bentota to Colombo
