We had a wonderful eight days exploring Sri Lanka with Heshan and Capital Tours. From Sigiriya and Kandy to the tea country and Ella, we experienced so much—temples, traditional dancing, a herb garden, woodwork and gem factories, tea making, beautiful scenery, safaris and a boat trip. We learnt a lot about Sri Lankan culture along the way. We also added the train journey to Ella, which wasn’t included in our original itinerary, and really enjoyed it. Heshan was happy to accommodate changes, including the train trip and an extra beach stop. He had a great sense of humour, always ensured our safety and helped make our trip memorable. All the accommodation organised by Capital Tours was fantastic. Our days were full, and we often felt we ran out of time! There is a lot of driving, but watching everyday life and the changing scenery out the window was interesting. Travelling between places also allowed us to see so much in a short time. The one visit we would leave out was the bungalow, as it was quite out of the way. We would have preferred to reach our accommodation earlier that day for a swim or some shopping. Allowing a little more downtime in the itinerary would have been lovely. Our advice to future travellers is to have tip money organised and budget for the safaris and boat trip, as these were paid for separately during our tour. We would have preferred these costs to be included in the overall tour price so we knew the full cost beforehand. We would also recommend asking about adding the train journey, it was a highlight for us! Thank you, Heshan and Capital Tours, for a fantastic Sri Lankan adventure.Show more

  I think we're not maybe understanding each other. What are the specific perks of the overwater villa? I have seen overwater villas before that had no direct access into the water, which is not something I'm interested in. Do they have steps going into the water, do they have a private deck, do they have a jacuzzi, etc?
