Itinerary
- Day 1
Yerevan
You'll arrive at Zvartnots International Airport and get transferred to your hotel in Yerevan. After you've settled in, spend the afternoon exploring the capital on a city tour. Republic Square, the Opera House, and the Cascade Monument are on the agenda, along with the Mother Armenia Monument where you can get views over the city. You'll also see Victory Bridge and some key government buildings. Later, check out the food Bazaar at GUM and the Vernissage market, which is the largest open-air arts and crafts market in the region.

- Day 2
Garni - Geghard
Head out early toward Garni to visit the Pagan Temple of Garni, the only non-Christian temple still standing in Armenia. It was built in 77 A.D. by King Trdat I and dedicated to the Sun God Mithra. From there, drive about 9 kilometers to Geghard Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This ancient Armenian monastery is partly carved into a mountain, with the main cathedral dating to 1215. It's said the holy lance that pierced Christ was kept here.

- Day 3
Khor Virap - Noravank - Areni
Travel south to Khor Virap Monastery, where St. Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned for 13 years before converting King Trdat III to Christianity in 301 A.D., making Armenia the first officially Christian nation. The monastery has great views of Mount Ararat. Next, go to Noravank Monastery, a 13th-century masterpiece by architect Momik built among brick-red cliffs above a deep gorge. On your way back, stop at Areni Winery to taste different varieties of Armenian wine.

- Day 4
Lake Sevan - Dilijan - Haghartsin - Tsakhkadzor
Travel to Lake Sevan, one of the largest high-altitude lakes in the world at 1,900 meters above sea level, and visit the Sevanavank Monastery from the 9th century on Sevan peninsula. Then head to Dilijan spa town, known for its forested mountains and mild climate. Walk through the Old Dilijan Complex on historic Sharambeyan Street to see the town as it was in the 19th century. Later, visit Haghartsin Monastery in a forested mountainside setting. Before heading back to Yerevan, stop at Tsakhkadzor, Armenia's largest ski resort town, to ride the rope-way up the mountain.
