- Day 1
Beijing
Your private guide and driver meet you at Beijing airport for the transfer to your hotel. Once you're settled in, you'll take a rickshaw tour through the traditional Hutong alleyways near Shichahai, winding through narrow lanes and residential areas. The tour includes a stop at a local family home where you can see how people actually live in these historic neighborhoods.

- Day 2
Beijing
Start at Tiananmen Square in the morning, then head into the Forbidden City to walk through its imperial halls and pavilions. From there, climb up Jingshan Hill where you get panoramic views looking back over the Forbidden City's rooftops. Later you'll visit Yonghe Temple, and you'll receive complimentary incense as part of the visit.

- Day 3
Beijing
The morning takes you to Mutianyu Great Wall with a round-trip cable car included, so you can get up and down without the steep hiking. In the afternoon, stop by the Olympic National Stadium for photos, then continue to the Summer Palace, which is the largest and best-preserved royal garden in China. You'll head back to your hotel by evening.

- Day 4
Beijing to Shanghai
After breakfast and checking out, you'll visit the Temple of Heaven, an imperial altar where Ming and Qing dynasty emperors would go to worship. Later in the afternoon, your guide takes you to board a high-speed train heading to Shanghai, which runs about 4.5 hours. Once you arrive, your local Shanghai guide meets you and transfers you to your hotel.

- Day 5
Shanghai
Begin your Shanghai day at Shanghai Museum, then walk through Yu Garden, a classical Chinese garden that's over 400 years old with its traditional pavilions and landscaping. From there, explore the cultural street Tianzifang where local shops and galleries line the alleyways. You'll visit Duoyun Bookstore located on the 52nd floor of Shanghai Tower for both books and views. In the evening, take a Huangpu River cruise, then finish by strolling along the Bund before returning to your hotel.
