    • Tanzania and Zanzibar are amazing places...The nature and animal's parks are mind blowing...but the tour operator needs to improve some operational aspects.

    • Overall an amazing experience however, it was too much to be squeezed into essentially 3 days before summiting. Everyone in the group had altitude sickness to some level and reduced oxygen saturations - not everyone made it to the summit.

    • An unforgettable experience climbing Kili. Service from our guides and porters was outstanding. A tough climb to the summit but never in doubt with the caring and professional team behind us. Organisation from Patrick prior to our tour was spot on! Any questions, any time of day he responded promptly. We felt very prepared for our trip.

    • Amazing trip organised by Amazing company. They delivered exactly what they said... From moment we arrived at Kilimanjaro airport all was organised. Good hotels, guides, cooks and porters. Food was great. We will be going back 100 % and we will be using World Adventure Tour. Zanzibar and chimpanzee safari next, with another trek to Kilimanjaro We cannot fault anything about our trip. Thanks again World Adventure Tour for the best trip ever.

    • All of our guides and drivers where able to point out tons of Big 5 animals plus other birds and safari animals which was such a pleasure. We were amazed by their talent, patience and innate connection with nature. Our trip was perfect thanks to them!

    • It was good.and.nice
Good - by CLAUS MARK RASMUSSEN
    • Our trip was broken into two different tour leaders (Lelei and Nash), drivers (Sam and Strong Patrick) and cooks (Nicholas and Simon) all of which were phenomenal. I still am trying to figure out when the cook actually slept. All the guides went out of their way to explain their culture. Splurge for having a cook on this trip the days are SOOOO long that we would roll in at 7 and get everything organized for a 9pm dinner being cooked while tents were going up, showers being taken and one beer to be consumed. There are quite a lof of TIA (This is Africa) moments but our guides were so good at quickly figuring out alternatives i.e. bridges washed away to the campsite and finding new campsites, campsites being flooded and again finding alternative accommodation, the bus broke down once outside Nairobi and a quick fix was found. By far the best part of the trip was the Gorilla section - the chimpanzees, the boat tour the same day with so many animals on the river including baby elephants and hippos was mind blowing, gorillas - had no idea what to expect and just out of this world experience (do not do Mt Sabyano hike unless you are VERY in shape), the Masai Mara had cheetahs killing in front of us, cheetahs on kills with pups, lion fights, lioness with cubs etc etc. I have to say the Nairobi to Zanzibar isn’t really worth it on it’s own and hard to assimilate with the group if you jump on here because the first part of the gorilla tour is exhausting. If you can do the entire trip from the beginning, bonds are made from the beginning and harder to break into as time goes on unless you are a couple. The tents were well taken care of and sleeping pads were sufficient on their own except maybe 4 days as you moved more south due lack of grass to sleep on. Be aware that if you are over 5 foot 10 you need your own tent because the footprint is too small and your feet and head touch the damp tent leading to unpleasant evenings, I am 5 foot 6 and it just fit me. I was really unsure of what temperature sleeping bag to take and a 0 degree celcius bag worked perfectly. Our first night was freezing though luckily as a Canadian I had brought a down jacket and scarf but if you just get a blanket all will be fine.First campsite was some peoples favourites or some peoples least favourite (toilet wasn’t working and no water to drain the toilet but lots of animals wondering through camp). Chimpanzee campsite was also a little rough but after that all were quite decent (basic but decent) and lots of upgrades for people who have the money...I stuck to camping. Lockers fit my 55L bag well, it’s best if you have a 20L waterproof bag with a flat bottom that you store your night stuff and toiletry stuff in as there aren’t hooks in the showers sometimes. More showers than you imagine and even if there is wifi many times there are just too many people on it and nothing happens. Would definitely recommend SIM cards for Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania as you spend your most time in these countries. I would do your own laundry as the laundry completed by the locals did come back smelling good but were still dirty which was disappointing and one of my shirts just didn’t come back, check out the scrubba bags. If there are a few of you hand doing laundry with a beer and music it was a good time. The bus has laundry buckets. Each country was so incredibly different for the first ¾ of the trip especially Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. I found that in Malawi it was just too overwhelming with people trying to sell craft goods all the time that I was quite panicked but it is very poor there at the same time so I understand their plight - I literally had 5 guys run me down at the beach with sand flying at their feet it was quite scary to get run after and surrounded. I am a SUPER active person and spent many sleepless nights for months ahead of time stressing about all of the sitting and yes there was A LOT of sitting, up to 12 hours some days but it was tolerable and I wouldn’t do it any other way in retrospect. Don’t even think it’s possible to go for runs on this tour you just get in too late and your up early to leave. I did not gain weight on the trip but you have to consciously remember not to cram huge portions of the yummy food onto your plate and consider what activity you did that day. PLEASE factor in tipping your driver, leader and tour guide DO NOT FORGOT to add it into your budget or get to the end of the trip and think wow that’s a lot of money to give them and undermine the hard work they’ve done the entire tour for YOU. Expect to pay a lot in tipping, you pay not only those 3 busy bees but every single person you meet along the way and the Gorilla trek is tips tips tips (about 60 US) for each military escort, trackers, guide and porters. This trip was once in a lifetime, I had low expectations since I hate sitting still and I don’t like the heat but I LOVED it. Totally recommend. PS bring a seat cushion, your bum will thank you.

    • We have used this tour company twice in 2019 and 2022 both times they have been amazing. We had a very knowledgeable driver Joseph who gave us an experience of a lifetime and one of a kind opportunities for stunning photographs (see pics). We started our safari in Arusha and then toured Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater then to my favourite park the Serengeti. Trust me when I tell you the right tour company is essential for a hassle free trip. Thank you Spider Tours and Safaris - we can't wait to do it again.

    • We spent amazing 4 days in safari with the best guide innocent. The tour was very well organized and we felt good and safe. innocent was the best driver, guide and a person himself. He is very polite, calm and funny at the same time. He exactly knew what we needed. He fulfilled all our wishes, special to Mr. Dominick😀 and he made our tour more interesting also with his suggestions. He is really the human encyclopedia. The car was clean all the time and filled with fresh water. We got a lot more than we expected. Thank you spider tours and safaris and innocent.

    • We had an unforgettable experience last week on this tour. We were a group of 4 women with limited to some hiking experience. Anna and Stasia from Altezza were very responsive leading up to our booking. They were very easy and transparent regarding all the booking details. During the trip, our guides Baraka and Gerald were highly professional throughout our trek. They made sure that we were as comfortable as possible. This included all the small things, such as making sure we got enough lights for dinner and bringing more if we needed, as well as the big things, such as making sure that we summited! Baraka and Gerald were highly experienced as guides, and made sure to adjust their walking speeds to the individual needs of our group. They were also very personable, friendly and extremely approachable if we ever had questions (and we had many!). In addition, the rest of the crew (there were 20 people in total), that helped us were all highly attentive and very competent- we could not have done this without them. The food from our chef Justin was delicious - we’ve never had soup as creamy and eggs cooked the way he makes them- it stood out as unparalleled hiking food! Our server Benson told us really funny stories about his many trips in the mountains while he prepared dinner. The rest of the crew who worked behind the scenes tirelessly made everything seamless! We couldn’t have asked for more. Some tips in addition to the other ones you may find online: 1. Bring Vaseline - it gets really dry in the mountains so that would really help. 2. It also gets very dusty in the mountain, so if you have dust allergies, you might need some medication. Even if you are not allergic to dust, it may be good to bring a bandana or something equivalent to keep off the dust. 3. Rent the portable toilet!!! It is much better than the public restrooms, and relatively clean. Much more convenient if you need to go at night. 4. Bring an extra roll of toilet paper- you won’t need it for the toile if you rent the portable toilet, but it is useful if your nose runs because it gets cold. 5. Bring extra hand warmers if you can. In addition to using them on Summit Day, some mornings are also cold. The crew does give you heated rubber bottles for warmth as well- so this is just for extra comfort. 6. Bring mouthwash! Some nights are somewhat cold, so you may choose to mouthwash rather than do the full floss/brush. Makes you feel cleaner for sure. Same goes for disposable baby wipes in addition to a camping towel (quick dry so you don’t have to use a wet one the next day!) 7. Bring extra snacks if you can- the crew never will ask you for food, but we think they really appreciate it when you share. Same goes for anything else you think you can spare. Sharing is caring! 8. Ask questions! We learned quite a bit about the mountains and the lives of our entire crew when we did- it was very rewarding learning more about the local culture and language.

    • We had a phenomenal experience with Altezza climbing the Mahcame Route (7 days). The guides were highly professional; every day they conducted a medical check to make sure we were all feeling alright, and helped ensure that we were taking care of ourselves properly. They fed us well, and provided all sorts of interesting facts and motivation to help get all of us up the mountain. In our group of 10, all of us made it to the summit! Our guides were also all Tanzanian/locals, which was great. Some other companies use Americans to lead their trips, which seemed unnecessary. The locals knew the mountain better, were fantastic ambassadors for their country, and in general just fun. I would highly recommend Altezza for anyone looking for climb Kili!! For what it's worth, we purchased the trip through the website The Clymb and were able to get a somewhat substantial discount that way. Might be worth exploring.

    • Amazing first Tanzania experience Our 6 day safari through Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater was fantastic. Our guide showed us the best spots to see all kinds of animals and always made sure that we were doing great. Our chef prepared the best meals along the way. The campsites were very adventurous and close to nature. At night we even got to spot some of the big five next to our tents. It was a great adventure and I would definitely book again with this company.

    • Unforgettable experience and great services. I highly recommend guide David We booked a 5 day lodge Safari with Serengeti African tours and our experience was truly outstanding!! Our guide/driver was David and he made our tour unforgettable. He made sure that we see all the possible animals and enjoy the trip to the fullest. He also answered all our questions and knew the parks really well. It was never boring with him. The lodges and food were perfect - it was an experience on its own. Thank you Serengeti African Tours team and especially David for this unforgettable experience!

    • I really wanted to like and support African Miles as a small, women owned business but I have mixed reviews on my experience. The Good: The guides / drivers (Elijah and Charles) were attentive, informative, and skilled drivers through the cities and rough and rugged terrain. The accomodations varied from luxury to mid-range but all had friendly and professional staff. The Bad: I had done tons of research and planned my entire 3 weeks in Africa around having a confirmed safari with African Miles when it was cancelled 10 days before I was due to leave. As a solo traveler, I completely understand if another portion of the group cancels. However, I was given no options, no alternatives, or even the options for refunds/credits. Just a “your tour has been cancelled” message. After some proddding, I found out that they had another tour, a bit longer, but much more expensive than what I had signed up for. But at this point, it was my only option to take because of the last minute nature of the cancellation. I was quoted an additional $1,800 ($4,800) total which. I was then charged an additional request of $2,800. When I responded after realizing it was a $1,000 more, Vinn said it was because Tour Radar takes a chunk of money and that the tour did not include the “luxury” accommodations that were part of the tour which the itinerary that was given was not what we actually did. I’m addition to the office issues, the Land Cruiser we had was not in great shape for the Tanzania side: One of the side windows didn’t work, the seatbelts were a struggle to latch, and we got 3 flat tires along the last leg which we also found out that the jack that was in the car was not large enough for

    • While this tour did have some bumps (which happens with travel), African Miles Travel Agency demonstrated why someone wants to go through a Travel Agency vs booking direct. They worked tirelessly to address and accommodate the issue that arose to ensure the best experience possible with the tour. Excellent accommodations and guides

    • Moses as well as out driver Omega were truly wonderful. Friendly outgoing generous with their time. Informative. I can’t say enough. There was a little I’ll will between 2 of the travelors and Moses was exceptionally good at easing the problems and making everyone feel comfortable and happy in spite of them. The accommodations and the staff of the places we stayed were excellent

    • I travelled to Kenya and Tanzania on a premium rated National Geographic , gadventures tour. The accommodation varied from very poor (Masailands Safari Hotel in Arusha- last minute substitution) to average, none were what I would call 3 star in UK. Many of the lodges/camps we stayed offered a set meal with no choice. Because we were travelling most days to a new lodge we would arrive and be told what the set menu was, several nights on the trot we had no choice but beef. The itinerary resulted in many hours of driving and we drove for several hours on one road four times to reach accommodation not in ideal locations, but probably booked because it was cheap. I have been to Africa many times and have always been on game drives early morning, not the case with this company, game drives mid morning when most animals are resting. This was a very expensive trip and I would rate it one star for value for money.

I certainly would have no hesitations in recommending them to anyone. The communication was prompt and absolutely no questions ever went unanswered. The guides and porters on the mountain were incredible and were a very large reason we all successfully summited. An outstanding team from our first enquiry all the way through until the last handshake goodbye.
