M/V Ocean Albatros

The Ocean Albatros set sail for the first time in June 2023 and successfully completed its maiden voyage around Spitsbergen. It is one of the newest flagships in the expedition cruise segment. The Ocean Albatros accommodates 198 guests in 94 comfortable cabins and suites, all with ocean views (and 90% with private balconies). With a 50% reduction in CO2 consumption, the ship is one of the most environmentally friendly; two electric motors and four diesel engines ensure an optimized fuel balance.

The innovative X-shaped bow provides greater stability in rough seas. With the highest Polar Code Class 6 and Ice Class 1A ratings, the Ocean Albatros can sail virtually anywhere. The Ocean Albatros features a dynamic positioning system. This allows it to maintain its position at sea without having to drop anchor. This is intended to protect the sometimes fragile seabed in the areas where the ships operate. It is also equipped with fin stabilizers and a zero-speed stabilizer to reduce the ship's movement when it is not moving through the water.

A fleet of Zodiacs allows for daily landings at places like penguin colonies, research stations, and other natural wonders. The ship is also equipped with a high-quality navigation system.
