Can you organise additional accommodation either before or after the tour if required?
Additional accommodation can be arranged on any tour however it needs to be booked in at least 30 days prior to the tour departing.

What is the average group size of the tours?
The average group size is 4 passengers per tour with a maximum of 12 persons per tour.
Are children able to join your tours?
All passengers & children aged from 2 - 90+ years of age can join the tours.
What types of accommodation are used on your tours?
MiCuba likes to give you more of a local experience so the accommodation you stay in will include home-stays (casas partculares) which are houses from Cuban citizens renting rooms or their whole house for tourists. There are many benefits of staying in a casa particular including; personalised & quality service which tends to be better than in a hotel, generally more centrally located accommodation and the benefit of getting to know the local Cuban citizens.
Is it customary to give tips in Cuba?
It is customary to give service staff in hotels and the drivers of your transfers a tip. In restaurants or paladares, a tip of about 10% is customary, for tour guides, you can give about 5 CUC per excursion and for porters / luggage carriers 1–2 CUC.
What is the official language in Cuba?
Spanish is the official language in Cuba. However, nowadays, more and more Cubans also speak English (generally the younger generation). To be sure, we recommend taking a language guide and learn some basic phrases by heart.
Is it safe to use public transport?
In Cuba you can use the bus company VIAZUL. These buses are mainly intended for tourists, have air conditioning and reclining chairs that. MiCuba can arrange the bus tickets for you in advance and you will receive your bus tickets on your second day in Havana if you wish.
Are taxis available in Cuba?
In Cuba there are different types of taxi’s: official taxi’s from the Cuban government (yellow / black taxi’s) and private taxi’s (old cars and old timers). The official taxis are often slightly more expensive, while you can sometimes negotiate the price with a private taxi. Tourists can generally get around pretty easily using the coco taxi’s in the city center, these are yellow tricycles in the shape of a coconut and finally you also have the option of a bicitaxi (rickshaw), which the locals generally use this kind of transport frequently.
What are roads like in Cuba for driving?
Traveling around with a car through Cuba is an experience that you will never forget! You will find you often have to adjust your speed because of various reasons such as potholes, animals and people walking on the road. The roads in Cuba often don’t have lighting, and the quality of the roads can change depending on the area. In Cuba, you drive on the right side of the road, and often the roads are pretty quiet. On the motorway, you can drive about 80-100 km per hour, on B-roads 50-80 km per hour.
Are there gas stations everywhere in Cuba to refuel?
Always buy Especial (unleaded petrol) for the rental car and make sure to fill up in time as there are not many petrol stations everywhere. Also, it's important to make sure you always have enough cash with you when refuelling as only sometimes you can also pay by credit card and only if the connection works.
is it possible to park at the Casa or is parking on the street only available?
In certain cities, the parking cost is not included in the price of the overnight stay in the casa. If this is the case the car is then guarded in the evening by someone who was appointed by the owners of the casa for that purpose. Generally, this can cost between 2-3CUC per day and this is a reliable way of parking on the street.
Are the rental cars equipped with GPS which can be used?
The rental cars are not equipped with a GPS system for you to use. It is also important to note that you are not able to bring a GPS for the rental car to Cuba yourself as there is a chance that you will be fined for this and it is possible for it to be removed from customs.
Is it safe to eat and drink everything in Cuba?
Generally, it is fine to eat & drink a variety of different things in Cuba, however, it is recommended to avoid ice cubes/tap water and instead buy bottles of water to drink, clean your teeth etc. Make sure you check for raw or poorly cooked meats, vegetables and fruit that is offered unpeeled.
What kind of electrical plugs are needed in Cuba?
Most of the outlets you will visit in Cuba have a voltage of 110 (English / American flat sockets), due to this, it is recommended to bring a universal plug.
