It was better than I expected. I was apprehensive about the trip because of the war in the Middle East. I was pleasantly surprised because Egypt is actually peaceful and the people especially the children are very friendly. The cruise was really fun. The staff are friendly and the food was delicious. I just wish they provided some shade in the pyramids because it was really stiflingly hot. My advice is don't go during the summer. All in all it was a great experience.

Our most successful summer itineraries start very early each day, usually around sunrise, then break during the intense midday heat. Many include extended time at the Red Sea where you can cool off between historical visits. Several tours include evening activities like the Luxor Temple light show and also traditional music performances when temperatures are more comfortable.

The autumn months from September through November hit a sweet spot - the heat has eased but winter crowds haven't arrived. Our fall tours often include extended time in places that can be too hot in summer, like the Valley of the Kings and Abu Simbel.
