The hotels in Cairo and Luxor were truly 5-star. They were two of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. The boat crew were all friendly and accommodating. The tour guides had an incredible amount of knowledge they shared at each area we toured. Both were friendly, as were all of the drivers. I had an incredible time. I highly recommend the tour.

Egypt Budget Explorer: 5 Stars Nile Cruise - Ancient Wonders - GEMBig Mo did a great job organizing the trip for our small group. Our first day tour in Cairo was with Abdoul(he's an archeologist). He's fantastic, very knowledgeable and passionate about telling the history of the Pyramids and the GEM. Yes it was a long day, but well woth it! Ashraf stayed with us during the entire cruise, and he was just amazing, kind, patient, personable and knowledgeable. He's one of the best tour guids we had in our last 10 trips all over different continents. We liked having the same tour guide for multiple days, it makes it personalized and help the group feel more comfortable with the guide. Also we had a security guard with us most of the time made us feel a lot safer. The only downfall was the wifi on the boat, it never really works, but it didn't bother us much.

Our most successful summer itineraries start very early each day, usually around sunrise, then break during the intense midday heat. Many include extended time at the Red Sea where you can cool off between historical visits. The air-conditioned cruise ships work particularly well in summer - you'll explore temples early, then retreat to the comfort of the boat while sailing to the next stop. Several tours include evening activities like the Luxor Temple light show and also traditional music performances when temperatures are more comfortable.

The autumn months from September through November hit a sweet spot - the heat has eased but winter crowds haven't arrived. Our fall tours often include extended time in places that can be too hot in summer, like the Valley of the Kings and Abu Simbel. Many combine a traditional felucca sailing with a luxury cruise ship portion, giving you different perspectives on the Nile.
