    Overall the tour was excellent. No one can control traffic and Lima after the first city tour took 2 hours to get home and the dunbuggy and sand boarding trip took 6 hours to get home. Mcchu Pechu with Roland was out of the world as the sun was out and Roland was so knowledgeable and friendly. The group chose not to go to Rainbow mountain and you have heard the negative review ( l was sick with altitude sickness and didn’t go). The care that l received at the macsalud clinic (5-10 minutes from hotel) was exceptional and would suggest that you give clinic name/ number for future tours if needed. The eco lodge was clean and provided excellent amenities. Would suggest to mention to future guests any food preferences/ dislikes so lodge can accommodate. Beef was tough and members of our group didn’t eat the pork. Food was excellently presented and more than adequate amounts.

    I expected to be on a tour with the same people every day and this only happened in Cusco to Machu Picchu. Pros * Machu Picchu guide Ernesto who was not only an excellent guide but also a great photographer. It was nice to have me in the photos which doesn't happen often as a solo traveller * Mamasara hotel in Agua Calientes. It was nice to have a comfortable bed and good shower after Cusco (see below) Cons * Lima tours - being the only English speaker is meant I missed some of what was being said as it was mostly in Spanish * El Puma hotel, Cusco - the hotel was very dated but the biggest problem was the bed. It was on a slant and was very uncomfortable and the blankets didn't feel clean. I would highly recommend not staying here

    We can not fault Kantu Tours with organizing our very special time in Cusco and Macchu Pichu. We bought the 7 day tour, but we were able to have free days, particularly between Rainbow Mountain and Humantay Lake as these were very early starts and long days. The road to Humantay Lake was closed and we were offered a trip to the 7 lakes and the views coming back down were incredible. Very good communication from David at Kantu Tours, who was always very prompt in replying and very knowledgeable and helpful. The tour guides were very good, always on time and the transport very good. Simply put, we had the most amazing time and were taken to stunning priceless locations. The holiday of a lifetime! Thank you to Kantu Tours, David and the staff.

    The Sacred Valley shows its best colors in spring when hillsides turn green and local markets overflow with fresh goods. Most of our travelers start in Lima exploring the colonial center and Larco Museum, then fly to Cusco where guides point out how Spanish buildings sit right on top of Inca walls. The 8-day trips through Cusco, Sacred Valley and also Machu Picchu let you take it slow - there's time to check out Moray's circular terraces, watch salt being harvested at Maras and spend quality time with weaving communities in Chinchero. Spring's perfect hiking weather makes the Inca Trail Express popular too, mixing cultural visits with 4 days of solid trekking.

  • Summer 2026

    Summer draws our more adventurous types looking for serious treks with deep cultural connections. The 4-day Salkantay route is a real challenge - you'll hike from 4,630m alpine zones down to cloud forest in just one day, watching condors soar overhead and staying at remote camps where our chefs somehow create amazing meals. Many pick week-long journeys from Lima's old quarter through Cusco's architectural mix and finally taking either the classic Inca Trail or alternative Quarry Trail to Machu Picchu. Our porters make these high-altitude adventures possible while guides share rich Inca history along the routes.

  • Fall / Autumn 2026

    Autumn offers ideal weather for mixing Peru's coastal and mountain experiences. Our travelers like starting with two days in Lima checking out colonial buildings and pre-Columbian artifacts at the Larco Museum before heading up to Cusco. The 7-8 day cultural tours work well - you'll adjust to the altitude while exploring local markets, watching traditional weaving in Chinchero and discovering Moray's agricultural terraces. Inca Trail treks run smoothly in autumn with fewer hikers on the path to Machu Picchu, and our porters keep camp comfortable even as high-elevation temperatures start dropping.
