The G experience was great! Perhaps a touch too expensive for the hotels we stayed in... But of course that is generally what happens when you don't book them yourself. The restaurants recommended by our guide were great, although meals weren't included. However, our guide was the best! The kids are so difficult to travel with and she handled them brilliantly, and we had such a fun time with her. G is so personable and we would travel with them again.

I booked thru Lumle Holidays in the UK for the Highlights of Magical Peru from 3/16-3/28. It was a great experience. I travelled seamlessly from place to place thanks to the guides and drivers from Lima Tours. The guides were all very professional, very knowledgeable and very friendly. They all give me recommendations on where to eat and shop etc. From Elizabeth getting me to and from the airport orChristian taking me to the Larco Museum, to Santos educating me about Machu Picchu, I got the royal treatment. They handled all aspects of my trip from trains, planes, buses and boats, I never worried about anything. All the guides and drivers that I encountered were fantastic and I hope to book with your company again. Thank you for highlighting magical Perú! Thank you! Jennifer Fogarty USA.

The tour guides were all excellent, full of knowledge of each place we visited. Always on time, message system, very good. My only problem was communicating with the contact from Lima Tours and getting documents on time. At the end everything work out ok.

What our customers ask about Peru Family Tours
What are the best family-friendly activities and attractions in Peru?
Peru's diverse landscape provides excellent options for families ranging from the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu to cultural experiences in the Sacred Valley. Children can participate in hands-on activities at places like the Golden Sunrise Hotel in Aguas Calientes where local traditions come to life. A TourRadar traveler noted: "The guide made our 13-year-old feel very comfortable and we learned so much about Inka and Peru cultures." Popular activities include meeting llamas and alpacas at the Living Museum of Yucay and exploring the floating islands of Lake Titicaca where local families demonstrate their traditional way of life.
What type of accommodation can families expect on Peru tours?
Most family tours use 3-4 star hotels that cater to families with options for connecting rooms or family suites. The Tierra Viva Cusco and Hilton Garden Inn are well-located choices in Cusco that work well for families. For Amazon visits lodging includes eco-friendly options like G Lodge Amazon which provides basic but clean rooms suitable for children. The Sonesta Posadas del Inca Yucay in Sacred Valley gives children space to run around. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The accommodations were consistently excellent and well-suited for families with good locations and amenities."
What is the minimum age requirement for family tours to Peru?
Tour operators typically welcome children starting at ages 5-6 for Peru family tours. Programs like G Adventures' Peru Family Experience and Trafalgar's Highlights of Peru are designed with school-age children in mind. Amazon portions require children to be at least 6 due to activity requirements. A TourRadar traveler noted: "The kids all loved Leo at the Tambopata Eco lodge." Family-focused hotels like the Hilton Garden Inn Cusco provide amenities that work well for children of various ages.
How physically demanding are family tours in Peru?
Peru family tours maintain a moderate pace that works well for children 5 and older. While visits to Machu Picchu and Cusco's ruins involve walking the schedule includes regular breaks. Most tours use vehicles between major sites to reduce walking distances. The high altitude in Cusco (11152 ft) requires an adjustment period especially for families. A TourRadar traveler noted: "Our guide was brilliant with adjusting the pace for different ages and abilities making sure everyone could enjoy the experience comfortably."
What's the best time of year for families to visit Peru?
The dry season from May to October provides reliable weather for family activities in Peru. July and August align with school breaks but require early booking due to high demand. April-May and September-October offer pleasant conditions with smaller crowds while December through March brings rain and better prices. A TourRadar traveler advised: "We went in July and had perfect weather for exploring Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley though you should book at least 6 months ahead during this popular time."
How should families prepare for altitude differences in Peru?
The high elevations in Peru require careful planning especially with children. Cusco sits at 11152 feet making a 1-2 day adjustment period essential. Places like Ayni Cusco Hotel help guests adjust by offering coca tea. A TourRadar traveler suggested: "We would recommend adding an extra day before the tour to those who need to acclimatize to the altitude." Starting with activities at lower elevations helps families gradually adapt to the altitude.
