The tour combined various parts of Peru, Cusco and Maccu Picchu - we are mid way so cannot comment on the trip beyond. Waman organised for local guides at most places that were well versed in their knowledge of their respective areas. Ernesto was a fantastic guide that made us feel comfortable despite feeling sick for most of the time through to Macchu Picchu and either side of it. This was one of first all inclusive tours with everything covered and everything went smoothly with the planning. Sometimes it took some time to hear back from the Waman hesd office about the next days itinerary. It's very important to know this as it can start as early as 4am and end about 10am! Otherwise, we saw a lot of the must-see sites in our short stay in Peru

Had a fantastic time, only hard point was that there wasn't enough time to rest up in Cusco before starting up the tour so day one was on no sleep...Fantastic guides and drivers, one time I accidentally left my wallet on board the van at the end of the day, when contacted, the driver returned it to me promptly completely intact..the sights were once in a lifetime and the people were always friendly and helpful..very safe everywhere, and the accommodations were clean with friendly staff.. Peru is simply magical 10/10 would recommend!!

What Should I See On My First Trip to Peru?
If you're heading to Peru for the first time you've got to see Machu Picchu - it's just incredible and really is as amazing as everyone says. Cusco's definitely worth exploring too it was actually the Inca capital and you'll love wandering through the Sacred Valley between Cusco and Machu Picchu. The views are stunning and you'll find fascinating Inca sites like Moray and Maras along the way. Don't miss Lake Titicaca it's the highest lake you can sail on and those floating islands are unlike anything you've seen before. In Lima make sure you dive into the food scene and check out the colonial architecture - the Larco Museum's pre-Columbian collection is really something special.
What Natural Areas Can I Visit Outside the Cities?
The Amazon rainforest is just incredible and easier to reach than you might think. Fly into Puerto Maldonado and you can stay at places like the Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion - they'll set you up with amazing guided tours into the jungle. If you're up for something different head to Colca Canyon from Arequipa by bus. It's one of the world's deepest canyons and watching condors glide over those dramatic landscapes is absolutely unforgettable.
Which Historical Sites Should I Visit Besides Machu Picchu?
You'll be amazed by Moray's circular terraces they're a brilliant example of Inca agricultural innovation. The Maras salt ponds are pretty spectacular too - imagine over 3000 salt pools stretching out across the landscape they've been using them since Inca times.
