We had a great tour leader Nabil Shohdy, who had fantastic in depth knowledge of Egypt's history, the story behind the pyramids, temples, the culture and the people. He answered numerous questions, built a cohesion and camaraderie between group member (his "tigers") establishing a what's app communication group which has continued post tour. We can highly recommend this tour and, in particular, the tour guide Nabil (tiger).

The autumn months from September through November hit a sweet spot - the heat has eased but winter crowds haven't arrived. Our fall tours often include extended time in places that can be too hot in summer, like the Valley of the Kings and Abu Simbel. Many combine a traditional felucca sailing with a luxury cruise ship portion, giving you different perspectives on the Nile. The October departures work especially well for photography - you get beautiful golden light at the temples without intense shadows. Several tours include desert camping experiences which are much more comfortable in the moderate fall temperatures, and also longer stays in Aswan where you can really explore the local markets and culture.
