The 14-days Balkans tour started and ended with our Leader Valentina. She was everything, everywhere all at once, while never losing her cool and her smile! At every twist and turn of the 3,000 meter-high and 2,500 kilometer-long road, we all realized how much our lives depended on our bus driver Borris’ exceptional skills. Not to mention the breathtaking scenery of the Balkans and the cultural, historical lessons I learned from being on site. Last but not least, the friendships we have forged among our twenty something group made this my best voyage to date. Thank you Penguin Travels!

I was a little nervous to travel to Europe alone, as a single woman. I had a friend recommend that I try a tour instead of a solo adventure. I'm so grateful I went this route instead and had Rianna as my tour guide. She made us all feel very comfortable, especially me since this was my first time traveling by myself. Our tour group did not disappoint and I got to meet so many amazing people from around the world. I would highly recommend Rianna as your tour guide. Before booking your tour, make sure she is the lead.

What our customers ask about Bus Tours in Europe
What are the key attractions covered on most bus tours in Europe?
European coach tours provide access to major landmarks across the continent. The itineraries connect iconic sites from Rome's Colosseum to Paris's Eiffel Tower and Amsterdam's Anne Frank House. Many routes blend visits to capital cities with stops in smaller regional towns. For example the European Trail tour covers 18 cities in 12 countries over 25 days with accommodations at properties like Hotel Duo Prague and Ibis Budapest City. As one TourRadar traveler shared: "We got to experience everything from the canals of Venice to the castles of Germany to the beaches of Barcelona. The variety of attractions and destinations was incredible."
What is the typical daily schedule like on a coach tour in Europe?
The day begins with breakfast between 7:00-7:30 AM followed by coach departure. Most itineraries include 3-4 hours of driving with breaks every few hours. Afternoon activities focus on guided walks or independent exploration time at key destinations. Evening programs feature group dinners at local establishments like Berlin's Kruezburger Himmel or optional outings such as Paris's Moulin Rouge show. Accommodations are typically 3-4 star properties like London's Park Plaza Riverbank. As one TourRadar traveler noted on a Contiki tour "We saw beautiful places learned a lot enjoyed local cuisine and the guide made even the longest bus rides enjoyable with fun games and stories."
How do bus tours in Europe accommodate stops for sightseeing and relaxation?
The routes include regular rest stops every 2-3 hours at service areas and viewpoints. Major attractions like the Roman Colosseum or Eiffel Tower receive 2-4 hour visit windows. Many itineraries feature two-night stays at properties like Park Inn Cardiff City Centre or Hotel Arrochar Scotland allowing proper downtime. As one TourRadar traveler mentioned: "The stops were well-timed - we had enough time to see major sights without feeling rushed plus regular breaks to stretch our legs and grab snacks."
What unique scenic experiences can travelers enjoy from the comfort of a bus tour in Europe?
The routes showcase dramatic landscapes along Italy's Amalfi Coast through the Swiss Alps around Lucerne and across the Scottish Highlands. Modern coaches with large windows provide comfortable viewing. Photo stops at locations like the Cliffs of Dover or Hungary's Lake Balaton enhance the journey. Many properties like the Waterford Marina offer scenic harbor views. As one TourRadar traveler described: "The drive through the Bavarian Alps was breathtaking - we stopped at Lake Misurina for photos and our guide shared fascinating stories about the region."
How much free time do I have to explore independently on a coach tour in Europe?
The itineraries balance structured activities with independent exploration. Stops at locations like Florence's Piazzale Michelangelo or Paris's Latin Quarter include flexible time for personal interests like shopping and dining. As one TourRadar reviewer shared: "The tour had a perfect mix of structured sightseeing and free time - we could choose to join optional excursions or discover places on our own."
What are the biggest time-saving advantages of traveling via coach tours in Europe?
Coach tours eliminate logistical hassles by managing transportation accommodation bookings and attraction access. Expert drivers handle navigation between pre-arranged hotels like Ibis Amsterdam Airport and Ireland's Twin Trees Hotel. Many tours provide priority entry at popular sites. A TourRadar traveler noted: "Having all the transportation accommodations and major sightseeing organized saved countless hours of planning and navigating on our own."
