The 'City, Jungle & Mountains: Buenos Aires, Iguazú & Salta' tour offered by the People Travel and Experience tour operator and that was coordinated though TourRadar was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! The hotels, tours, transportation and dinner outings were all first-class. Excellent experience and value for money. The only unexpected glitch was that we were unable to view Iguazu Falls from the Brazilian side. Apparently, due to a relatively new requirement, as of April 2025, Canadians and Americans now require a visa to enter Brazil. The advance materials provided by TourRadar stated that no visas were required for this tour, which I took as fact. However, I do accept some ownership for not reviewing visa requirements myself independently before travelling. We were promised a refund for the cost of the excursion to the Brazilian side of the falls, which is fair. All-in-all, this was a minor setback to an excellent tour, and it did not dampen our overall satisfaction. I would highly recommend both TourRadar as a tour aggregator, and People Travel and Experience as a tour operator.

Best tour companies for Argentina tours
Say Hueque gets mixed feedback for their Patagonia trips - while they're good at organizing tours and quick to respond, some people noticed the quality varied depending on which local guides they used. A few travelers mentioned their actual trips didn't quite match what was planned. Over at Unu Raymi, their El Chalten treks are getting really positive comments on TourRadar, especially about three guides - Pedro, Miguel and also Luis. These guides know their stuff, from helping people tackle tough trails to sharing interesting stories about local culture and history. There's just one note of caution from a group who did a longer trek - they ran into some scheduling hiccups and weren't too impressed with the food. It's a good reminder that even well-rated companies need to stay on top of the details and keep everyone in the loop about what to expect. The main takeaway is that while both companies have their strong points, Unu Raymi seems to have an edge with their guides in El Chalten right now. Just make sure you get all the specifics about your route, meals and daily schedule before you go.
Best places to start your Argentina tour
Most of our Argentina tours kick off from Buenos Aires, with 41 travelers choosing the capital as their starting point. El Calafate draws 14 travelers and Ushuaia brings in 13, especially for those focused on Patagonia, while Salta and Mendoza see smaller numbers of people exploring wine country and the northern regions. Speaking of wine, Mendoza's vineyards offer excellent Malbec tastings with the Andes as your backdrop - September through April is prime time for vineyard visits. Looking at our booking data, you'll want to lock in your tour about 55 days before you plan to go to get the dates and itinerary you're after. If you're hitting multiple spots, internal flights can save time, though many of our travelers mix flights with scenic bus rides to really see the country.

Best time to visit Argentina
- Spring 2026
Spring brings Patagonia to life with wildflowers popping up along the trails. Our most popular trips combine El Calafate's glacier visits with hiking in El Chaltén. The spring weather makes longer walks much more pleasant - especially that full-day trek to Laguna de los Tres where Fitz Roy's peaks mirror perfectly in the newly thawed lakes. Camping gets more comfortable too, and many of our travelers go for 3-day routes with nights at Campamento Poincenot and near Laguna Torre. Spring's also great for spotting local wildlife, which becomes more active as temperatures rise.

- Summer 2026
Summer is prime time to pair Patagonian classics with pleasant hiking temperatures. Our travelers often combine El Calafate's glacier visits with treks in El Chaltén, where warm days allow extended walks to Laguna de los Tres, offering mirror-like views of Fitz Roy in the alpine waters. Multi-day hikes wind through Lenga forests toward the Valley of Madre and Hija lagoons, and guests can choose between camping by glacial waters or taking an adventurous zip-line crossing over the Fitz Roy River. Starting in Buenos Aires lets you experience evening tango performances and traditional asado before heading south to the mountains. Active visitors tend to pick kayaking on Río de las Vueltas, where granite peaks tower overhead while they paddle. Tours typically include flexible scheduling, so you can switch between guided hikes to Cerro Torre's lookouts, local cafes in El Calafate and also independent exploring. Our customers consistently mention how valuable they find the guides' expertise about local conditions, safe trail options and also regional wildlife during the summer season.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
Fall creates perfect conditions for our more technical Patagonian routes. You can trek through the Valley of Madre and Hija lagoons and up to Viento Pass - the cooler temperatures actually help with those long climbs, and you'll see the Lenga forests changing color. Our autumn multi-day trips include some exciting moments like crossing Fitz Roy River by zip line and camping at Laguna Toro. The clear fall nights there are fantastic for stargazing. If you want something less demanding, try the Pliegue Tumbado day hikes - you'll get great views of Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre without needing technical climbing skills.

- Winter 2026 / 2027
Winter tours in Argentina open up a different side of Patagonia. Our El Chaltén trips take you through snow-covered Lenga forests on the way to Laguna de los Tres, with experienced guides leading the way. You'll need proper winter gear and crampons - it's real mountain territory after all. We make safety a priority with mountain rescue staff joining these expeditions, and our camps are fully set up for winter conditions. If you're looking for something lighter, the Perito Moreno Glacier walks are excellent in winter - the cold air makes the ice formations extra sharp and clear, plus you'll have more space on the viewing platforms since most tourists come in warmer months.
