What people love about touring Argentina solo
- Best of Argentina
We chose Argentina to celebrate 130 yrs of life and wow - what, a celebration it has been: Totally, utterly fabulous for all the right reasons! It is the first time we have ever used an agency to organize a tour but after this experience, we would happily do so again. Right from our very first enquiry, we experienced only positive, helpful and very professional service. Yes, it is undoubtedly more expensive than organising everything oneself but we travelled hassle-free, everything was ready for us and so we were left to just focus on enjoying the glorious experience of Argentina. Well done, Say Hueque (and especially Lujan) and thank you, TourRadar
- 5-Day Trip to Ushuaia & El Calafate
Went to some amazing places, very reliable, great communication except for not noting that the price pictured doesn’t pay for what is actually included.
- 3-Days Iguazu Falls Tour of the Argentinian and Brazilian Side
This was an amazing tour. I was picked up and dropped off at the airport. The hotel that was booked (Mercure) was really good. It had a nice jungle setting. The pool and hot tub were pleasant as it had a bar. The food and stuff were just as nice. The first day of the tour was on the Brazilian side. Our guide, Carlos, was kool. We were lucky and he took care of the immigration stuff. After a short ride, we got to the falls. To say that I was in awe is an understatement. Although the Brazilian side tour was a little short; just a 2 hour-ish walking tour, I would have liked some more time to just stroll. The next day was the Argentine side of the falls. It was another 2 hour-ish stroll. The views were impressive. We were able to see some wildlife. After seeing the falls from multiple viewpoints, we had lunch. Watch out for the monkeys. After that it was the boat ride. It was the most insane experience. They took us up mad close to the falls. We got drenched, but they gave us a bag to put our cameras and other things you didn't want to get wet in. You can get a poncho, but it'll only help to a certain degree. Walk with a gopro or a waterproof case for your phone. We couldn't do the train ride or walk in the middle of the falls because a few weeks prior, there was a massive flooding event and it took out pieces of the walkway and track. All things considered, it was a great tour. I would definitely do it again.
What our customers ask about Argentina Tours for Solo Travelers
Which areas of Argentina are most solo traveler-friendly?
El Chalten stands out as a hub for meeting fellow travelers on hiking trails and in hostels. Patagonia's El Calafate and El Chalten are particularly welcoming to solo adventurers with clear trail markers at Mount Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre along with regular group activities. The towns have good travel setup with glacier tours and places to stay that encourage socializing. Hotels like Kosten Aike and Las Dunas in El Calafate draw solo travelers thanks to their central spots and friendly environment.
What's the best time of year for solo travelers to visit Argentina?
The peak season runs October through April when most tours are active and you'll meet the most travelers. For Patagonia including El Calafate and Ushuaia December to February brings the best outdoor conditions with long days perfect for activities. A traveler on TourRadar noted: "I visited in November and found it perfect - not too crowded but plenty of other travelers to meet and ideal weather for exploring Buenos Aires and Mendoza."
How social are the guided tours in Argentina for solo travelers?
Tours keep groups small between 8-15 people which makes it natural to get to know everyone. Perito Moreno Glacier tours usually max out at 12 participants so guides can give personal attention. El Chalten hiking groups stay at 8-10 people for a good experience. As one TourRadar guest put it: "The small group size made it easy to get to know everyone while hiking through Los Glaciares National Park - it felt like traveling with friends."
What accommodation options are best suited for solo travelers in Argentina?
You'll find places to stay that fit different styles and budgets. El Calafate's Hotel Las Dunas has single rooms while Rancho Grande Hostel in El Chalten offers social dorm spaces. For more comfort Hotel Kosten Aike provides common areas where travelers often gather. A TourRadar guest shared: "The mix of accommodation styles worked perfectly - I could choose between private rooms when I wanted space and social hostels when I wanted to meet people."
How safe is Argentina for solo travelers on guided tours?
Guided tours in Argentina are well-organized with local experts and arranged transport between major attractions. Hotels like Carles in Buenos Aires sit in secure central areas with round-the-clock security. One traveler noted: "I felt completely secure throughout the entire trip from the airport transfers to the guided excursions at Iguazu Falls - the tour operators took care of everything."
How easy is it to meet other travelers during meal times on Argentina tours?
Group meals naturally bring travelers together throughout the tours. Most include shared breakfasts at places like Hotel Infinito Sur in El Chalten and group dinners at local spots such as Rancho Aparte in El Calafate. A TourRadar guest shared: "The group dinners were highlights of the trip - sharing stories over Patagonian lamb while discussing the day's adventures at Perito Moreno Glacier created lasting friendships."
