Fantastic itinerary in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand. I traveled to Southeast Asia with Prestigo Asia and our rep is Lana. All the guides were excellent and informative, hotels were good locations with buffet breakfast. I traveled to Halong Bay, Ho Chi Minh City, Siem Reap, Bangkok and Luang Prabang so easily with a lot of information. Experiences in Halong Bay and Cu Chi Tunnel were stunning and funny. All the countries were coordinated so reasonably. It was 15 days so amazing

Laos was a country I’d like to explor further, the accommodations were great and the people terrific. Hoi An Village villas was a jewel, the service was excellent, the area around it a real highlight, especially the local people. Ha long over night boat trip was another wonderful experience. We could have made a week of it, if we were taken to other sights further away. The whole trip was one of the best I’ve done.

Best tour companies for Asia tours
Based on customer feedback, Prestigo Asia and Bravo Indochina Tours consistently deliver quality experiences across Southeast Asia. TourRadar travelers particularly mention their guides - Dat from Prestigo gets regular shout-outs for his local knowledge, while Sandra at Bravo Indochina receives praise for making cultural connections feel authentic and personal. The accommodations chosen by both companies hit the right notes, with travelers appreciating the comfortable rooms, convenient locations and also thoughtful touches. Their itineraries flow well, giving you enough time to properly explore each spot without feeling rushed. On the flip side, Hoi An Express has some work to do on their tour organization. While their airport pickup service runs smoothly, several TourRadar customers point out issues with unclear daily schedules and guides who could be more engaging in certain regions. This feedback mainly applies to their cultural tours, though their transportation services generally get good marks. What really sets Prestigo and Bravo apart is how they handle the small details - from restaurant recommendations to helping with local customs and also unexpected schedule changes. The guides' personal connections in each destination add layers of insight you simply wouldn't get otherwise.
Best places to start your Asia tour
Bangkok serves as the main jumping-off point for Asian adventures with 25 different tours starting there, while Hanoi follows with 16 departures and Tel Aviv comes in third with 10. Siem Reap and also Bishkek round out the main starting cities with 9 and 8 departures. Most people book about 147 days ahead - that's roughly 5 months - which makes sense since the popular tours fill up fast, especially those including Halong Bay and Angkor Wat. Our first-time visitors often mix temple visits with hands-on activities like cooking classes and craft workshops, which gives them a much better feel for local life. A two-week trip seems to hit the sweet spot - it gives you enough time for guided activities plus those evenings when you want to explore night markets or find hidden temples on your own.

Early morning market visits let you watch monks collecting alms in Luang Prabang's misty streets and try hot bowls of pho in Hanoi's Old Quarter without the summer heat.

What's the best time to book your Southeast Asia adventure?
You'll find the sweet spot between November and April that's when the weather's just right across Thailand Vietnam Cambodia and Laos. The dry season brings plenty of sunshine and the humidity drops making it perfect for wandering through ancient temples bustling markets and beautiful beaches.
What local dishes should you definitely try and where can you find them?
Southeast Asian food is incredible and each country has its own special dishes you won't want to miss. Thailand's Pad Thai is everywhere from street corners to restaurants - it's this amazing stir-fried noodle dish with shrimp and peanuts that just works. Over in Vietnam you've got to try Pho especially for breakfast it's this incredibly fragrant noodle soup with beef or chicken that locals love. When you're in Siem Reap Cambodia hunt down some Fish Amok a creamy curry steamed in banana leaves that's just perfect. And in Laos the Larb is something special - head to Luang Prabang's night markets for this flavorful minced meat salad packed with herbs and spices.
What cultural experiences can you actually be part of?
There's so much you can join in on across Southeast Asia. In Chiang Mai you can participate in the morning alms-giving to Buddhist monks it's really special. Bangkok's got these amazing fruit carving workshops where you'll learn this centuries-old art. Over in Hoi An Vietnam you can make your own lanterns in a city that's famous for them. Siem Reap offers incredible Apsara dance performances that show off ancient Khmer culture and in Luang Prabang you might get invited to join a Baci ceremony - it's this beautiful traditional ritual for good luck that local families often host.
How do you get around between countries?
Flying's definitely your quickest option with airlines like AirAsia and Vietjet connecting all the major cities. If you're watching your budget there are buses and trains but they'll take longer and comfort varies. Buses run between most major cities often overnight and while train options are more limited you can still catch some great routes like Bangkok to Chiang Mai. The Circle Indochine 16 Days tour uses domestic flights which really makes sense for covering more ground.
Where can you go to escape the crowds but still see amazing places?
There are some incredible spots that don't get nearly as much attention as they should. In Thailand check out Lampang with its unique horse-drawn carriages and beautiful old architecture or head to Khao Sok National Park for jungle adventures without the crowds. Vietnam's Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park houses the massive Son Doong cave it's breathtaking and way less touristy than you'd expect. Sambor Preikuk in Cambodia is this fascinating UNESCO site with ancient temples that tells the pre-Angkor story and Champasak in Laos with the stunning Wat Phu temple ruins gives you that perfect mix of history and natural beauty without the tourist crowds.
