Athens, Mykonos & Santorini Tour - 7 DaysThis was a wonderful tour! It covers a great variety of sites, across Greek history. We also enjoyed beach time! Our guide, Eva, did a fantastic job and handled unexpected things with ease. There was a strike one day at she learned about it in advance and shuffled the schedule, so we still got to see everything, but it didn’t feel overly rushed, nor did the strike day feel empty or wasted. Our driver, Alex, was equally great and maneuvered our bus through tight spaces and winding roads with ease. The hotels were surprisingly nice, more than I expected from group tour 3* hotels, all with A/C. All of my rooms, but one, had a balcony and most had a fantastic view! All of the beds, but one, were very comfortable and the breakfast was good at the vast majority of hotels.
Highlights of Ancient GreeceDOT Travel put together an interesting set of accommodations and transfers, that allow you to see the best of Greece, the Cyclades Islands ( I did Syros, Mykonos & Santorini this time ) and Crete. The standard of accommodation was excellent for 3 and 4 Star Hotels. My location in Athens meant I saw the best of it, such s the Acropolis and toured it, the Acropolis Museum, the Agora, the Sky Bar and did some time at the beach club at Bolivar. I saw the National War Museum, the Botanic Gardens, the Panhellenic Stadium…I got to walk the narrow streets of Athens safely, at all hours. The Cyclades Islands required you to use taxis pre-booked to get you to Piraeus then catch the Austral Jet Passenger boats across the Aegean to the various islands. I only took an 8 kilo backpack for my Islands tours and that of Crete. That was all I needed. Syros was my favourite island but Mykonos is fun. Santorini is interesting as it has volcanic history and you are 230 metres above sea level unless you use the various car hires or special access to get down to sea level. DOT Travel age based in Hernonissos in Crete and ran the most beautiful hotel on the waterfront, near seafood restaurants, and beaches to swim from or beach clubs where you pay handsomely for access to drinks, food, music, sunshade, and swimming. The people at DOT Travel could do enough to assist me. I enjoyed their work, the way the holiday is set up, their friendly nature assisting you enjoy your holiday. I would travel with DOT Travel again.
