We couldn't have asked for a better experience on our 9-Day tour of Syros, Mykonos, Tinos, and Athens. Travel Zone took care of all the logistics, and the transfers were flawless.

This is a self-drive package of hotels/rental cars, and suggested itinerary. If you are looking for a group tour, this isn't it. This was exactly what we wanted. The car was ideal to suit our needs, and the hotels were lovely. If you are over 69-year-old, they will not let you be the driver. My travel companion could not be added as second driver for this reason. The car rental said it was insurance reasons. I was of age, so it was fine, but people should be aware. The hotels were of high quality with excellent breakfast buffets. There is excellent value for money, and I would use this operator again.

Self-guided tours in Greece let you set your own daily pace while maintaining structured travel arrangements between destinations. You'll have scheduled connections between places like Athens and Santorini but freedom to spend your days as you choose. A stay at the Acropolis Hill Hotel in Athens or Belle Etoile Villas in Santorini serves as your base for independent exploration. Recent travelers report seamless experiences with logistics as one TourRadar review notes: "Everything went smoothly from the transfers ferry's hotels etc. We could not have asked for a better time in Mykonos & Santorini."
What are the best months to take a self-guided tour in Greece?
The prime window for Greek self-guided tours runs May through October with September and October emerging as smart choices for pleasant weather and fewer crowds. During these months temperatures typically range from 75-85°F in popular spots like Santorini and Mykonos. A TourRadar traveler confirms the appeal: "We visited in September and the weather was perfect for exploring the islands without the intense summer crowds."
