This tour gave the best first impression of India. A great mixture of rural and urban culture. The guides were very informative and driver was punctual and always kept the car neat & clean. We have no doubt in recommending this tour.

We loved India. Beautiful country with so much to see. The people were friendly and the monuments stunning, with the countryside equally beautiful. We opted for a 5 star hotel package and were a little disappointed @ the caliber of a couple of the hotels (dated decor, limited food choices, etc.), however, service was always amazing and staff very willing to assist. While the time spent at each location on paper seemed like a good pace, the scheduling of the trip could have been better planned in one area. We spent 2 nights in Agra and only 1 night in Ranthambore National Park. * not enough to see in Agra to warrant 2 nights * would have rather stayed in Ranthambore an extra night to have 2 afternoon safaris, as the morning safaris were too early both for the humans and the tigers during the winter months! * on both safaris there were timing issues - the afternoon ended up being earlier than expected so we had to rush through lunch & the morning one ended up running later than expected meaning we had to rush to get to Fatehpur Sikri before it closed (we also missed getting to see the Abhaneri Stepwell) * in Delhi the Red Fort & The India Gate were closed due to the annual Jan 26th Republic Celebration (if we had known about this celebration/closure in advance we might have chosen different dates) Our driver was very accommodating and the guides in each city were knowledgeable and very helpful often answering our questions so thoroughly we could hardly absorb the details. Overall the tour was great and with a few minor changes it could be spectacular. NOTE: we opted for a leopard safari and cooking class in Jaipur (leopard safari was early in the morning and had same results as early tiger safari), cooking class was a very quick demo of a couple of dishes (enjoyed meeting the family and lighting the paper lantern on the roof top, but no chance to actually cook)

Best tour companies for India tours
Based on client feedback, two operators really stand out for Golden Triangle tours in India - Fragrance of Taj and Joyful Holidays. They've built solid reputations for reliable service, skilled guides and carefully designed routes. Sanjeev Paul at Fragrance of Taj gets lots of mentions from our travelers for how he handles the little details - whether it's finding that perfect restaurant or adjusting plans on the fly. Over at Joyful Holidays, Sonia has a knack for quick responses and making things work, even with last-minute changes or special needs. What's nice about both companies is how they blend the usual sites with local experiences. Our customers often tell us they appreciate having guides who really know their history and culture, plus drivers who navigate India's busy roads safely and professionally. They'll take you through Delhi, Agra and Jaipur while making sure you get more than just tourist snapshots. I see lots of positive notes about how both teams handle the practical stuff - good hotels, smooth transfers and timing that lets you actually enjoy each stop instead of rushing through. Plus they're both really good at working around any hiccups that pop up along the way, which is pretty important when traveling in India.
Best places to start your India tour
Delhi works perfectly as your first stop in India, with 88 of our customers choosing to start their trip from the capital city. While some folks begin down south in Kochi or Thiruvananthapuram, Delhi's connections make everything simpler. Book about 3 months ahead - this gives you time for visa paperwork and helps secure spots in those special heritage hotels that tend to fill up fast in peak season. Our guests particularly love staying in family-run heritage properties where you can join cooking classes, watch cultural shows and also get to know the local hosts. Women traveling with our groups tell us they really value how we balance safety with real cultural experiences, like guided market walks and visits to women's craft collectives where they can connect with local artisans.

Best time to visit India
- Winter 2025 / 2026
India shows its best side in winter with our most popular 5-7 day Golden Triangle tours. The mild December through February temperatures make wandering Old Delhi's narrow lanes much more pleasant, while the crisp morning air creates ideal conditions for Taj Mahal sunrise photos. Our guests love staying in heritage hotels - converted Rajasthani mansions where you can join evening cultural performances and learn family cooking secrets from local hosts. These winter routes balance guided monument visits with plenty of free time, especially in Jaipur's markets where you can browse textiles, gems and also precious stones without summer's intense heat.

Spring tours from March to May put wildlife front and center with early morning and late afternoon safaris in Ranthambore National Park. Our visitors regularly spot tigers, leopards, sloth bears and various deer species when the animals are most active. These itineraries blend nature with culture nicely - you might track wildlife at dawn then watch the sun set behind the Taj Mahal from Mehtab Bagh gardens. The extended 10-day routes include extra game drives for better wildlife viewing while covering all the key sites in Delhi, Agra and also Jaipur.

Summer sees our heritage tours take center stage, with air-conditioned vintage cars moving between historic sites during peak heat hours. These trips focus on indoor cultural experiences - exploring Amber Fort's detailed chambers, discovering Jantar Mantar's astronomical wonders and also watching artisans work in traditional craft workshops. The evening heritage walks are particularly special when temperatures drop, letting you photograph Jaipur's lit-up palaces while local experts share deep knowledge of Rajasthani architectural styles.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
Autumn offers perfect conditions for comprehensive cultural tours, with October-November weather ideal for both outdoor monuments and festival experiences. Many routes align with celebrations like Diwali or the Pushkar Camel Fair, adding authentic local culture to the usual site visits. Our fall tours balance structure with freedom - morning tours of Mughal history at Agra Fort might lead into afternoon market exploration or cooking lessons at your heritage hotel. Many guests particularly enjoy the sunset boat rides on Udaipur's Lake Pichola and village walks near Jodhpur where you can meet local families and also learn about daily life.
