Great communication from tour company, both pre-arrival and each day. They were always responsive, not matter the time of day. We had very knowledgeable guides each leg of the trip, tour group size varies between 10-13 throughout the trip. While it was interesting to visit local shops to learn about industry/craft, it got tiresome and felt like sales pitches after the first 2. We visited two rug shops, which was a waste of time - i would rather have had some down time mid trip vs filler of a shop. The lunch stops were good, not a bad meal. I would recommend the trip to others, a great way to see so much history of Turkey.

The private and small group options tend to work better for most people - you get more attention from the guide and can move at a more natural pace. The way these companies adapted during Covid shows a lot about how they operate. Tour Altinkum was particularly good about working with travelers on rescheduling and refunds, which isn't something every company managed well during that time. Their local knowledge really came through when plans needed quick adjustments. Just keep in mind that while the bigger group tours are often cheaper, you're trading some of that personal touch and flexibility that makes the smaller tours special. It really comes down to what matters most for your trip.
