10 Days - Best of Turkey Tour / by PlaneOverall, the company was extremely organized and professional\. Communication was excellent throughout the trip\. We were kept informed through WhatsApp about the following day’s schedule, pickup times, and what to expect\. Everything was punctual, and that organization made us feel relaxed and comfortable\. I also appreciated that we were given choices when visiting historical sites\. If someone did not want to purchase an entrance ticket, there was no pressure\. We could wait at a nearby café or rest area, walk around, or shop for small gifts\. Our guides were generally very kind, friendly, and accommodating, and I truly appreciated their efforts\. There are, however, a few things I believe could make the experience even better\. The first day in Istanbul was especially difficult\. We had arrived after a very long flight from the United States with a significant time difference and jet lag\. We started very early in the morning and spent almost the entire day walking, until around 5:00–5:30 PM\. At the end of the tour, our guide unexpectedly left us at the Grand Bazaar without making sure we understood how to return to our hotel\. Being in a new country on our first day, exhausted and unfamiliar with the city, this was stressful\. We became lost and walked in circles before eventually finding our way back to the hotel\. I would suggest that guests either be guided back to their hotel or be given very clear transportation instructions before the guide leaves\. The overall pace of the tour was generally fine\. My only suggestion would be to make the first day a little lighter for guests arriving after a long international flight\. With the time difference, jet lag, and many hours of travel, a full day of walking can be quite tiring\. Allowing guests a little more time to rest and adjust on that first day would help them feel refreshed and better able to enjoy everything the tour has to offer\. The hotel breakfasts were consistently good, and we especially enjoyed the open\-buffet lunch in Cappadocia\. Unfortunately, most of the other included lunches were disappointing in quality and variety\. Because the days were long, having a good lunch was particularly important\. By the time we returned to our hotels, we were often too tired to go out again to find dinner, especially when some hotels did not have a restaurant or cafeteria\. Overall, I believe this is a very organized company with kind and accommodating guides and excellent communication\. With a few adjustments to the first\-day schedule, clearer arrangements for returning guests to their hotels, and some improvement in the included lunches, I believe the experience could be even better\. Thank you to everyone who worked hard to organize our trip and make our time in Turkey memorable\.

Several routes spend more time at Pamukkale, where autumn weather is ideal for exploring the white terraces and Hierapolis ruins. Our travelers tell us how the old Silk Road sections through Konya, Cappadocia and surrounding areas come alive with fall colors, making those longer travel days more interesting. From what our travelers tell us, Fez Travel stands out among Turkish tour operators - their guides Faruk and Aran consistently get mentioned by name for really knowing their stuff and making everyone feel welcome. Tour Altinkum is another solid choice; Kerem and his team handled the pandemic disruptions well, staying flexible and keeping communication clear throughout. If you're trying to decide between tour styles, I'd lean toward the smaller groups. Some of our customers who've done the larger bus tours with companies like Eskapas mentioned the quality can be hit or miss, and you might spend more time than you'd like on the bus between stops. The private and small group options tend to work better for most people - you get more attention from the guide and can move at a more natural pace. The way these companies adapted during Covid shows a lot about how they operate. Tour Altinkum was particularly good about working with travelers on rescheduling and refunds, which isn't something every company managed well during that time. Their local knowledge really came through when plans needed quick adjustments. Just keep in mind that while the bigger group tours are often cheaper, you're trading some of that personal touch and flexibility that makes the smaller tours special. It really comes down to what matters most for your trip.
