I had an amazing trip to Costa Rica! I thought that the hotels had good service for the quality that was advertised before the tour. I also really enjoyed Ingrid as our tour guide. She was an extremely knowledgeable guide who really put a lot of effort to make sure that we learned a lot about Costa Rica. She advocated on our behalf when there was issues of translation, and made the tour feel especially personal to each person. I had an amazing time in Costa Rica, and I want to personally thank Ingrid and G Adventures for operating such a fantastic trip! I think that some of the optional activities started to become repetitive, especially nature walks. It was expected that you would take part in optional activities at each location, as the tour was centered around the optional activities. I would like for future Costa Rica Quest tours to include more activities. As well, I would love if more activities were included as options in each location visited. I wanted to take part in water rafting in La Fortuna, as it was stated as an optional activity on the G Adventures website. However, once in La Fortuna, the water rafting option was not included as an option with no reason as to why it was not included. More transparency about options would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, I had an amazing trip and I look forward to taking part in more G Adventures tours in the future!

All the tours and providers tried very hard. If there were any problems, it was probably our own fault—-trying to act like teenagers in our mid 70s.

Not enough words to describe how great Gema was! From start to finish she was an excellent tour guide. She showed a great knowledge of Costa Rica. She was very organised and the trip ran so smoothly. She communicated so well with the locals, and if there were any problems along the way we didn’t notice because she dealt with everything. She communicated well with us, even before the trip started to make sure everything was organised. Gema had the most amazing energy, we all loved her instantly. She has such a warmth that made us all feel comfortable on an otherwise daunting trip! We could see that she carried the same energy to whoever she met - it was clear how much the locals at the homestay loved Gema, as well as our bus drivers and anyone we met. Gema provided fun, bubbly, positive energy which was infectious to all of us. Gema went above and beyond her role as tour guide, continuing to help us even after our tour had ended, offering to book dinners for us etc. I couldn’t fault Gema as a tour guide, and think she is a complete asset to TruTravels, she will be great at whatever she does in her future endeavours, and is without a doubt the reason that we loved Costa Rica so much.
