What people love about Budget Tours in Europe
- European Encounter (Winter, Start London, Classic)
I cannot think of a better way to visit so many places all at once. Our tour guide knew how to get us into the best places, some of them free of charge like in Venice. I would recommend Contiki for anyone 18-29. For those 30 and over (that is me), you'll need to understand that you will be traveling with crazy young adults and to be ready for all that can include, haha.
- Balkan Jewels (Intensive); Semi - Private Tour with Dedicated Tour Leader & Car
Everything was amazing! Our guide was excellent and the tour was very organized. Choose Balkans kept in contact with us throughout the trip and were friendly and easy to reach.
- Central Europe Group Rail Tour (18-35)
The highlight of our year so far! ? Me and my partner loved the Central Europe Tour ?(2 weeks), we would recommend it to ANYONE! And we would even suggest doing the Whole of Europe tour (4 weeks), as we could have easily carried on travelling with this company and the amazing people we met! ?The whole trip was thoroughly planned and so enjoyable! Such a stress free experience, especially for someone like myself who gets quite anxious when travelling - I would 100% do again!?? I met some incredible individuals, and the group planned activities were just what we needed to establish really strong bonds straight away! We have definitely made some lifelong friends and memories we will forever cherish! ??? The creation of the WhatsApp group chat with all our fellow travellers beforehand was so beneficial!? It broke the ice and put our minds at ease about the uncertainty of the upcoming trip ? And our guide Cristina ? - was brilliant, super friendly, helpful, considerate and extremely knowledgeable - educating us all. She was available 24/7, and we had the pleasure of spending our last day in Venice with her! ??? She deserves a lot of credit for making all our experiences amazing and unforgettable! Thank you Cristina ?? We look forward to our future bookings with Euroventure! ??
What our customers ask about Budget Tours to Europe
When is the most affordable time to visit Europe on a budget tour?
Visit Europe during March-April or October-November to find the best deals on budget tours. During these months accommodation prices drop and crowds thin out at major sites. For example the Generator Hostel in Munich cuts rates by up to 40% in these off-peak periods. Tour prices hit their lowest points in March and November with smaller group sizes adding to the appeal. One TourRadar traveler noted: "Traveling in late October meant shorter lines at attractions like the Colosseum and more reasonable hotel rates in Venice though some seasonal attractions were closed." Expect to pay 30-40% more if traveling during the peak summer months of July and August.
How much additional money should I budget for meals not included?
Set aside USD 30-50 per day for meals not covered in your tour price. Most accommodations like the Holiday Inn Express Arena in Amsterdam include breakfast but you'll need to pay for lunch and dinner. Western European cities such as Paris and Rome typically cost USD 15 for lunch and USD 25-30 for dinner. You'll find meals cost about 30-40% less in Eastern European destinations like Prague and Budapest. One TourRadar traveler advised: "Budget around USD 15 for lunch and USD 25-30 for dinner in Western European cities like Paris and Rome while Eastern European cities like Prague and Budapest are about 30-40% cheaper for meals."
What regions offer the best value for budget tours in Europe?
Look to Eastern and Central Europe for the best value on your budget tour. Countries like Czech Republic Hungary and Poland offer rich cultural experiences at prices well below Western Europe. Cities such as Budapest and Krakow let you explore historic sites museums and local cuisine without the premium prices found in major Western capitals. As one TourRadar traveler shared: "The Eastern European portion of our tour offered amazing experiences and better value for money compared to major Western cities."
Are entrance fees to major attractions included in budget Europe tours?
Most entrance fees come as extra costs beyond the base tour price. You'll need to pay separately for popular sites like the Colosseum (USD 24) Prague Castle (USD 15) and the Eiffel Tower (USD 16). Plan for USD 200-300 in total entrance fees according to past travelers. Some tours include select entries such as the Paris to Berlin tour covering the Holocaust Memorial and Berlin Wall Museum but most major attractions require additional payment.
What's included in terms of activities on budget Europe tours?
The base tour price typically covers orientation walks basic city tours and select cultural experiences. Take the "Gotta-See Europe" tour which includes an Amsterdam bike tour walking tours of Prague and Vienna plus food tours in Venice and Florence. Most visits to major landmarks like the Colosseum or Eiffel Tower cost extra. One TourRadar traveler noted: "The included walking tours gave great overviews of each city though most major attractions were optional extras."
What's a realistic total budget including optional activities?
Plan for USD 190-260 per day for the base tour cost plus USD 50-70 daily for extras like activities meals and personal spending. Popular routes like the "Rome to Lisbon" tour see travelers spending USD 300-350 total per day. Costs run higher in Western Europe and lower in Eastern regions. One TourRadar traveler shared: "Beyond the tour cost I spent about USD 500-600 per week on attractions meals and shopping - more in Western Europe less in Eastern Europe."
