Budget Tours & Trips to France Reviews
- Paris, Normandy and the Loire
Really enjoyed myself it was an interesting tour the cities in the towns we went to enjoy them Normandy the most
- Spain, south of France, Burgundy and Alsace
Scenic, Packed, and Worth It! The French Riviera tour was stunning—so many gorgeous spots packed into a short time! You get to visit places that would be difficult to manage on your own, and the views are absolutely unforgettable. It was a bit hectic with tight schedules, long drives, and limited time at each location, but the guides did their best to keep things organized. With a diverse group of people and different guides across locations, it could feel a bit overwhelming, but the beauty of the Riviera made it all worth it. Highly recommended if you want to see a lot in a short time!

What type of accommodation can I expect on budget tours in France?
Budget tours use 2-3 star hotels and local guesthouses (chambres d'hôtes) in convenient locations. In Paris specific properties like Hotel Andre Latin in the 5th arrondissement and Alexandrine Opera Hotel in the 8th district offer simple clean rooms. A TourRadar traveler described their Paris hotel experience: "The hotel was nothing fancy but it was clean comfortable and in a great location for exploring the city." The best deals are found from November through March except during the holiday season. These winter months see lower rates in popular spots like Nice and Paris with fewer tourists at major sites. The shoulder seasons of April-May and September-October balance good weather with reasonable prices especially when visiting places like Loire Valley castles and the French Riviera.
What are some budget-friendly areas to visit in France?
Several regions deliver great value beyond Paris. Look to smaller cities like Lectoure in Armagnac Carcassonne in Occitanie and Nice along the Mediterranean coast. These destinations offer authentic French experiences at lower prices than the capital.

Most tours provide daily buffet breakfasts and occasional dinners particularly in regions like Provence and Loire Valley. The Highlights of France tour serves as an example offering 12 breakfasts and 4 dinners of local dishes. According to a TourRadar review: "The included breakfasts were substantial with fresh croissants cheeses and meats. Having some dinners included helped manage costs." Lunch is usually independent letting you explore local dining options.
