we had a fantastic experience with this tour in Sicilia! especially our guides Placido and Gabriele were the best. A lot of knowledge was shared, with a flavor of humor. it is great to see and hear that they want to tell their history to us from their point of view, being a local. thank you for this wonderful stay.

Our Italy tour was AMAZING and worth every penny! Our tour guide, Raid, was beyond awesome and made our tour so fun and organized. He was very clear on where to meet and what we would be doing day to day. He did an excellent job of keeping our group organized and informed on what was going to be happening. He also gave great tips on where to eat and the highlights of each city. We could not have had a better tour guide and tour experience! We loved every minute of it ❤️

What our customers ask about Italy Guided Tours & Trips
What is included in the typical meal arrangements on fully guided tours?
Fully guided Italy tours provide daily breakfast at partner hotels and select group dinners highlighting local cuisine. Local dining highlights range from rustic Tuscan farmhouse meals near Florence to seaside restaurants in Sorrento. Food experiences often feature regional specialties such as wine tasting sessions in Montepulciano hands-on pizza workshops in Naples and artisanal gelato in Rome. Recent reviews note the quality of included meals with one TourRadar traveler sharing: "The included meals were excellent especially the welcome dinner in Venice and the farewell dinner at a family-run restaurant in Rome - great way to experience authentic Italian cuisine."
What type of accommodations can I expect on a fully guided tour in Italy?
Tour accommodations focus on 3-4 star properties that blend local character with modern comforts. Properties like the 19th-century Hotel Risorgimento in San Lazzaro and Hotel Villa Diodoro in Taormina offer distinct Italian hospitality. Standard amenities include air conditioning WiFi and central locations near key attractions. Guest feedback consistently mentions the strategic placement of hotels with one TourRadar traveler noting: "The hotels were well-located and comfortable especially the Hotel Alpha in Sorrento with its beautiful Mediterranean views."
What items should I pack for a fully guided tour in Italy?
Essential items include sturdy walking shoes for navigating Rome's ancient streets and Florence's stone pathways. Pack versatile clothing that works for both casual sightseeing and evening dining. Religious sites like St. Peter's Basilica require modest dress while outdoor locations such as Pompeii need sun protection. Practical layers help with temperature changes between outdoor sites and air-conditioned museums. A TourRadar traveler suggests: "Good walking shoes are essential - we averaged 15000 steps daily exploring places like the Vatican Museums and ancient ruins."
What level of physical activity should I expect on a fully guided tour of Italy?
Daily activities typically require 3-5 hours of walking on varied terrain from Roman ruins to medieval town centers. Sites like Orvieto and Cinque Terre present natural elevation changes while the Amalfi Coast features numerous stairs connecting towns like Positano and Ravello. Vatican tours involve extended periods of standing and walking. According to one TourRadar traveler: "Be prepared for lots of walking and stairs especially along the Amalfi Coast but our guide was great at accommodating different fitness levels and there were always options to take breaks."
What is the best time of year to take a fully guided tour in Italy?
Spring (April-June) and fall (September-October) offer ideal conditions with moderate temperatures and manageable crowds. These seasons work well for outdoor exploration from Pompeii's archaeological park to Tuscany's wine country. Summer brings warmer weather ideal for coastal destinations while winter sees fewer tourists at cultural sites. One TourRadar traveler reports: "We went in May and had perfect weather for walking tours in Rome and Florence plus beautiful clear days for coastal views in Positano."
How much free time is typically included on fully guided tours in Italy?
Tours balance structured activities with personal exploration allowing 2-3 hours of independent time daily in main destinations. A typical day in Florence combines morning guided visits to the Duomo and Uffizi Gallery with free afternoons for personal interests. Venice schedules often pair guided St. Mark's Basilica tours with time for independent canal exploration. One TourRadar traveler notes: "The balance between guided tours and free time was perfect - enough structure to learn the history but also time to explore on our own."
